Re: Drop CdA bigger than hoods CdA
John, Thanks for the look. I did start each coast down at the same spot, and stopped pedaling at the same spot. Every time except the error, the iBike reported a good coast before the next one. Your comments make me think I've hitting too steep a hill? Roughly how long (distance wise) should the slo...

Re: Drop CdA bigger than hoods CdA
Russ, Thanks for the reply. And GREAT JOB on the analysis. I did a new cal ride, after a Tilt and Wind Cal, on a flatter course (WOD trail near Herndon, Va) in the morning when the temps were constant. Of course, I followed up with a set of coast downs. The first half were in the drops, the second h...

Re: Drop CdA bigger than hoods CdA
Russ, You're shooting 50/50. You're right on the handle. I set the Crr to .0055 (value from the manuals) and the CdA dropped to ~.09 and .28, respectively. With values that low, the iBike says I only produce 50W to ride 20mph on the flats. More than fixing the profile, I want to know how to avoid th...

Drop CdA bigger than hoods CdA
This morning I did two cal riders and sets of coast downs; one for riding on the hoods and another for the drops. Test rides were done about 20 minutes apart. Both were on the same course. I did have two turns on each, but I went slow and gentle. The end result was that I have a CdA of .360 and a Cr...

Re: iBike Software Update 6.1.0
First, I think it is great that iBike improves software all the time and doesn't charge for it. More people ought to follow their lead. In reference to the csv issue, I recommend that iBike post the last version of iBike software that did not have the new (more difficult) file format. Then, people c...

Pout Disable
I would like to disable the Pout function on my iBike as I don't have a GPS or similar device to receive the xmitted data. I'm hoping this would save battery power.
I can't find anything in the iBike computer software nor in the menus on the unit itself nor on the forums.
Any tips? Thanks.

Re: Trainer Mode Turns Off when Riding
Thanks again for the tip. I'd recommend putting this in the next rev of the PM Operating manual. You guys did a great job describing how the iBike works, and one could logically assumed a Wind Cal need not be done for the trainer. The iBike has a lot of functionality, therefore requires a lot of rea...
