Runners HRM/watch that works with iBike Strap?
I am getting ready for a duathlon in a month. I will use the Dash for the bike leg, but want to use a watch/HRM for the 2 run legs. I don't want to wear 2 chest straps or have to switch while in the transitions. Do any of you use a wrist HRM for running are compatible with the iBike ANT+ strap? Whic...

Re: Happy New Year
And Happy New Year to you and your great staff. In 2011, the Dash was an integral part of accomplishing last new year's resolution to lose weight. To do that, I reduced my total bike miles by about a third (3002 this year, as opposed to the average 4400 over the past decade), and focused on interval...

Re: charging is not supported with this accessory
jlipcon...had the exact same thing happen several times. You might want to try unscrewing, removing, and then reseating your tray inside the unit, making sure you have screwed the tray in securely. That takes care of it for me. You'll know immediately, because you'll see the recharging icon. If that...

Rebut Myself - Good Dash Battery Life, iTouch 3G
My last topic had a negative feel to it, so I'm adding a new topic to rebut myself. I took the word "optional" in Dash documentation, describing external battery use, too literally. I would either not use it, or use it only after the iPod battery was at 20% or below during a ride. I got le...

Re: Dash, not great battery life in my hands
Steve and Denny, Do you guys have the 3d gen or latest (4th?). Are you numbers like John's, or more like mine? I still get the feeling this may be a 3d gen iPod issue, based upon what some forum Apple forum readers are writing about their 3d gen iTouch units.
Thanks!
Bill

Re: Dash, not great battery life in my hands
Hi Denny, I think we agree. I was saying that if I crank it to max brightness during the day, it's very easy to read, but drains the battery pretty fast. I have to dial down just a bit in order to prolong the battery charge, and the challenge for me is to find, how much can I dim it before reading i...

Re: Dash, not great battery life in my hands
Thanks, Steve. You're right. I live in sunny, sunny Texas, so I have to dial in the brightness to the minimal brightness which allows me to read it without strain. After a 75 minutes ride at lunch, I had 75% battery life remaining. If you have the iPod, does that sound close to the battery performan...

Re: Dash, not great battery life in my hands
John, Thanks, but I am willing to bet the battery power is a 3d Gen iPod Touch issue, not Dash. There seems to be some buzz on different forums on decreased battery life with at least some 3d gen iPod Touches, especially with one of the software upgrades. My power issues sound very much in line with...

Re: Dash, not great battery life in my hands
Good evening, John....3 hours exactly to each 25% battery strength with Dash turned on, but NOT in the phone booth...Right after I posted this afternoon, I went for a ride with the Dash...It had a 60% charge (iPod) and a fully charged spare battery, and the Dash shut off due to low battery one hour ...

iBike Dash Battery Life
I've read that most Dash useerrs are getting hours per charge with both iPhones and iPods. Not so with me. Usually after a 75-90 minute ride, I am down to minimal charge on the battery. Even with the spare battery, after 3 hours or so, I am just about drained (well, the iPod is....). Today, I powere...

New Dash - Trainer Capabilities and Premature "End Ride?"
I took the iBike Dash on its maiden ride today. Yesterday's installation was painless and went quickly. Today, I got 3 serial "End Ride?" prompts over a 46-mile distance. Each time, I tried to hit "cancel", but the rides would terminate, and new rides would begin. No real problem...

More iDash Feedback, Please?
Happy Columbus Day! I am been an iBike/iAero user for years, and am on the verge of pulling the trigger on the iDash. I'm a bit concerned, though, that user discussion of the iDash not as vigorous as I would have expected for a new item. Are you all still waiting to purchase? Or have you bought it, ...

Sweat Leaked Into Face of iBike
Good morning, I recently broke my arm, so now the extent of my riding is on the trainer, with aero bars to support my cast. Yesterday, I was in a good tempo ride, and sweating at a good clip. As the sweat would land on the iBike, I would wipe it off with a towel. Still, I could see the meniscus of a...

Re: False Flats
I live in a part of Texas where chip seal is way too common. In those days with vibration problems (and correct! those days are now gone), your watts would tend to have incredibly high peaks....1500, 2000 watts would just sort of pop up. It was never a steady under-reporting, it was just all over th...

Re: iBike and Weight Loss
Wow. That's really impressive, and I'm super-envious. Are you maintaining 55-60% FTP throughout, or are throwing in some sort of intervals as well? Do you track body composition on something like the IronMan devices? If so, how much has your body fat percentage dropped? Do you sprinkle in some morni...

Re: Losing connection when using trainer mode
I did lose connection several times during yesterday's trainer session. I ride the trainer on my back patio; yesterday was in the high 40's and damp; I just sort of put the connection loss to drain on battery power. Even though I had loaded the new FW a few days prior, I was more suspicious of the w...

Re: open fit test file?
Hi John,
I have firmware version 3.01...I have also not been able to see any evidence of the fit tests upon download...everything is great when doing the fit test on the road or trainer, but I can't find any trace of it once I download the data.

Re: IBike Gen III Mounting
Lorraine, I have had some of the same frustrations. "Snug" doesn't quite define how much effort goes into getting it aligned and fit onto the mount. It usually takes me a good 3-4 minutes to get everything lined up. But, I have always been successful after the effort. There is also a fair a...

I am having similar problems. The unit had been flawless, but it had wireless fail a couple times last week. It would eventually find the sensors (all except HR, which I cannot revive despite new batteries, etc...) Today, I am travelling, and have the trainer, and cannot get the sensors to kick in a...

Re: How Accurate is trainer mode?
Definitely. But, I train with DVD's, either Spinervals, Ventura, or Carmichael. It is easier for me to tolerate a purely suffering pace on the trainer when I am following directions. It's also easier for me to do tempo riding and not break above my LT on the trainer than it is on the road. The train...

Re: Cycle-Ops Fluid2 and Trainer Mode
I tried each of the power curves while using a Spinervals training DVD. Finding the correct curve really wasn't that difficult. I could immediately rule out 2 of the curves. I wish I could boast the kinds of watts I was posting with those 2, but they were fantasy readings. Between the remaining two,...

Re: iBike and WKO - Cadence and HR?
LRC...Perfect. Thanks. That worked.
So, a possible advantage of going through iBike, then to a csv is that the iBike software can analyze the data of the ride, and (hopefully) get a better analysis of the data, and the improved data can then be saved into WKO?
Again, thanks for the help!

iBike and WKO - Cadence and HR?
I think I saw this discussed on the old forum at one time. I have the most recent build of WKO, but can't see anyway to show cadence and HR data. Am I missing something, or is this just not built for the iBike in Cycling Peaks yet?
Thanks!
Bill
