How do you do a 'scan' for ANT+ with an N6?
The scan option isn't in the 'set_up' options since upgrading

Re: PowerPod BLE/ANT is here!
Hi John
Good luck with the new product.
Any reason the PP could not xmit non-power metrics in BLE format? speed, cadence, HR etc
(even if only as an optional setting?)
Therefore act as an effective ANT -> BLE translator for speed/candence/HR etc

Re: Negative elevation figure
Not sure how you do it on the PowerPod but on the Newton the elevation will 'drift' due to climatic conditions so you need to reset it at the start of a ride. Eg My base Alt is stored as 35m so before a ride a do a quick check of how close to that the unit thinks it is and if more than a few meters ...

Re: Multiple Profiles multiple bikes
I have used 3 different profiles on my 3 bike for some time. The Newton with FW 5.0 automatically selects the correct profile. Recently I converted some of my wheel sets from 23mm to 25mm circ. and have attempted to set up an alternative profile for my race bike, with 23mm tubs as 1 profile and 25m...

Re: Multiple Newton/users
I recently bought (3) Newton6 power meters so that everyone in the family would have one. I started looking at the Issac software for how to manage the profiles and ride data for the three of us. I was looking for some advice or best practices for how best to manage using the three Newtons interfac...

I'd be interested to see some before/after images with/without oval rings.
(We've used it with 'Doval' rings and not noticed much difference)

Re: A way to use new smart trainers?
OK, well if/when you can get it recording, your CSV file will have Newton power in the 'Power' column and trainer power in the 'DFPM" column.
For export to GC you will have a manual step to copy/paste the DFPM column data to the Power column because GC won't load the DFPM column

Why can't you just pair your smart trainer to the iBike as if it were a DFPM and not be in trainer mode?

Batt % CHr6
My Newton switched off during my ride yesterday I thought maybe low battery, as I'd lost track of when last connected to PC However on connecting to a PC it turned straight on and I could see 23% charge and increasing But what I also see is that after displaying the battery % it than says "CHr6...

Re: riding with DFPM and file export
Newton power is in the 'Power' column of the CSV
The is another column "DFPM Power" which 3rd party apps probably ignore.
If you are not getting the outcome you want, edit the CSV file to suit your needs

Re: Is it possible to turn auto-pause off?
Auto-pause is probably most relevant to calculations of "best effort for duration". If you are doing an effort but are interrupted by traffic lights or whatever then your efforts either side of the stop should be split (or averaged down) by the time you are stopped for. I once was credited...

OK, I give. What's W'? How many 'matches' left in the tank. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24509723 Newton could be the first head unit to display it in real time, if you catered for it. Re: Analyze Route?
John has generally said here that for a 'well dialed-in' unit there should be no need for the 'analyze route' function. I prefer to use it myself for most rides, although the differences (with/without) are far less than you report. I generally find that although rides start and end in the same place...

Maybe you already do it, but it shouldn't be that hard to get it to vary the CRR a little up or down depending on the noise - which wou...

Re: FTP test newton compared to DFPM?
Something would be pretty wrong for that not to be the case because the differences between units would tend to average out over a 20+ minute test.
A few watts difference would be normal however - just as you'd likely see a difference between any two DFPM units.
