Hi John
If I pair sensors again does this invalidate my cal data?
Is it possible to set the sensor number in a profile through Issac?
Thanks

Re: Bad readings from first 6 to 10 mins of rides
Hi I checked the clamp but this was secure but I could put another 1/2 turn on the thumb screw holding the PP to the clamp and I think it's done the trick. I haven't downloaded the last data yet but the readings on the Garmin looked good. Re. the cadence sensor - thanks for the information on the ba...

Re: Bad readings from first 6 to 10 mins of rides
As I said in my OP I haven't moved (or removed) the PP from the clamp, and the period of "bad" data is variable. I have experienced the 8 min effect and I know it's exactly 8 mins and what I'm seeing isn't that.

Bad readings from first 6 to 10 mins of rides
Hi I'm having some issue with my PP where the initial power measurements during the first 6 to 10 minute period of a ride I'm either getting very high numbers compared to the lack of effort I'm making or 0W, this is after I've done a 10 min cal procedure and I haven't moved the device in the clamp s...

Re: Concerns over power readings
Hi John
I've done the O+B cal ride now and adjusted my ride on the 27th using the adjusted profile and the ride metric look more reasonable, now for a few more rides to get a better feel for the new adjusted output.
thanks

Concerns over power readings
Hi I've got concerns that the output from my PowerPod is too high by somewhere between 50 and 100 watts based upon RPE and heart rate readings. I've checked the profile for the bike and it looks right - 700c x 23c, about 90psi, total weight (rider and bike) 80kg, road setting was the reasonable asph...

PowerPod won't charge
Hi, What's the warranty on a PowerPod? I was on a ride on Sunday and I noticed my pp had stopped registering a reading on my head unit half way through the ride so I pressed the pp button a few times thinking it might have gone to sleep but I then figure the battery must have run out of charge. No w...

I use the smooth asphalt setting which I believe gives about the right accuracy for UK roads

Re: Out and bike ride automatic recognition
Hi John, I've realised I still have an outstanding question related to my initial query. You've answered how to stop Isaac automatically checking for out-and-back rides, but the question I still haven't got the answer to is how does Isaac analyse a ride and determine it's if it's out-and-back. If I ...

Re: Out and bike ride automatic recognition
Don't worry about responding to my last post, I've just seen and read the recent ongoing thread about wind scaling value which has given me the information I'm looking for.

Hi John
Thanks for the excellent response and information as always. Re. the wind scaling factor of 1.5 what is a realistic value for this and where/how is it set?
Thanks

Out and bike ride automatic recognition
Hi. I've noticed on a number of occasions the files from my Powerpod are automatically recognised as out and back rides when they're not, and I was wondering why this is happening? I've attached a recent example of this after I merged the file with a GPX from my Garmin 500 (for some reason the 500 s...

Indoor velodrome tracking
Hi When training on my local velodrome I've noticed a particular pattern to my results (power, cadence, speed) which has a period which is roughly half the length of the track and suggests that I'm easing off going into the corners. I'd like to be able to track these points with my position on track...

Negative elevation figure
Hi,
I've noticed recently that the elevation figure from my Powerpod data is negative, which I have been correcting through merging a GPX file from my Garmin download, but why is this happening? BTW most of my rides start only a few meters above sea level.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Overlay of power and HR zones
You clever chaps I'm sure you can figure it out
Seriously ...
Is this a sorry it's not going to happen, or a we want to do it but technically it's not possible with the current GUI framework used for Isaac?

Overlay of power and HR zones
Hi, Would it be possible to enhance Isaac to be able to overlay power and heart rate zones on the plots? Of course the user would have to setup the zone thresholds up somewhere within Isaac. I'm currently using Training Peaks to see this but it would be great to have this directly available in Isaac...

Re: Powerpod enhancement suggestion
You could be right there John :) I suppose I didn't fully appreciate that the solid green light indicated the speed sensor detected and which in turn would indicate the profile in the powerpod would be correct. Through this thread your comment about the cadence sensor is detected has got me question...

Re: Powerpod enhancement suggestion
Hi John Do you get a solid green light when both speed and cadence sensor's are connected if you're running with separate sensors (magnetless Garmin units)? I suppose I was think of flashing the LED red the number of times that matches the profile i.e. profile #1 then 1 flash, profile #4 then 4 flas...

Powerpod enhancement suggestion
Would it be possible for a firmware upgrade to use the powerpod light to indicate the profile it's using? The reason I'm asking about this is I have a speed sensor which is, shall we say, temperamental but functions most of the time and because of this I would like feedback from the powerpod to indi...

Fixing power file for velodrome training
Hi, I used my Powerpod in an indoor wooden velodrome but I'm assuming the readings are too high as the rolling resistance will be for the normal setting which is tarmac pathed roads. How can I fix the ride file to change the rolling resistance for a wooden track? I was riding 700c x 23 at about 100p...

Power data seemed wrong for approx first 10mins
I've noticed this a couple of times recently. On my ride today the power reading on my Edge 500 was too variable and way too high, I reckon about double, for about the first 10mins of the ride, but after this the results seemed about what I'd come to expect from previous rides and RPE. I'm wondering...

Powerpod and ovalised chainrings
Apologies if this has been answered before but I can't find it on the forum. It's reported in the media that ovalised chainrings result in higher than actual power readings and as DFPM are the majority of the market I'm assuming this is how power is being measured in these reports. My question is do...

Re: Powerstroke not available with my latest data
Hi John
Could it be made to work in indoor trainer mode - seems to me to be the best place to concentrate on improving pedaling style where the Powerstroke feedback is very important.
Thanks

Powerstroke not available with my latest data
I've had Powerstroke enabled and reviewed the data for some previous rides but it's not available for the ride I did yesterday. In Isaac when I select the Powerstroke button I get the dialog about opening the sample ride data which I used to see before I purchased the Powerstroke key. Yesterdays rid...

I was just wondering if anyone has had their PowerPod from the Kickstarter programme marked with "limited edition" as mine isn't. I'm not that bothered it's not but it was the 1st point highlighted in the letter that came with my PowerPod.

Re: Tacx T1000 Antares Rollers
Using TrainerRoad's VirtualPower capability and my Tacx Anteras rollers I've done a couple of test runs to create power vs speed curves and then extract a regression curve (from MS Excel) from the data. So far I've only made 2 runs but the data points match up reasonably well (+/-2W in the majority ...

Re: 2nd bike setup
Hi John
The second option looks like the better of the 2, and I like the auto selection of the profile from the sensor ID's - it's probably an obvious function to have but it could quiet easily have been over looked.
Thanks

2nd bike setup
To set the PowerPod up on a 2nd (or more) bike when the pairing with new speed and cadence will a new profile be created on the PowerPod automatically, or are some actions required via Issac first?
Thanks
