Powerpod mount in 25mm handlebars
I have a Brompton which I would like to mount the PP on. Does anyone know a quick hack to get the standard mount that comes with the PP to fit narrow bars ~ 25mm?

PowerPod on a Brompton
Any one tried to use the PP on a Brompton - and managed to mount it without the cables disrupting the air flow or affecting the bike fold?

Mounting angle change - needs new OB profile
Hi John I use an out-front mount for the PP with the Garmin unit on top and PP beneath. I've angled the Garmin so that it not horizontal but slightly angled to face me by say 10 degrees. If I now "flatten" out that angle, so that the Garmin/PP/out-front mount is perfectly horizontal, does ...

Re: Climbing power vs flats power
Thanks so much John. I know I wasn't very consistent on the flat bits as I was just playing around with a few sprints. :-) There was something wrong with my cadence sensor as it usually works. When I was choosing the IBR files, I was also thinking what type of ride makes for a good one for you to ch...

Climbing power vs flats power
Hi John My PP outdoor riding climbing power numbers seem to align quite well with my perceived effort from my TACX NEO powermeter. But when I ride on flats (assume now not drafting) the power numbers from my PP seem to be relatively higher than the perceived efforts on flats from the TACX Neo. (For ...

New profile/O&B - or tweak an existing profile?
Hi John I've been using PP for a couple of years now and had a profile working fine. But I've since gotten some new flashy Enve wheels that are much wider/aero and wanted to update the profile. How do I go about doing this? Do I "update" my existing profile or should I create a new profile...

Re: PowerPod mounting with a handlebar mounted dry bag
I'm also interested in this as I was looking at the apidura front handlebar mount bag for bike touring. I didn't end up buying it, but when I was thinking it through in my head, I think it will be a challenge. I use a front mounted Garmin/PowerPod mount with it extended to the furthest most position...

Updating Crr for different tyre
Hi John I'm using a tire which according to BicycleRollingResistance.com is the world's fastest tire. I'm hoping to fine tune the profile with the known tested Crr - http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/road-bike-reviews/vittoria-corsa-speed-2016 - so that all future PP recordings reflect the new...

Understanding wheel speed and wind speed
Hi John In ISAAC, how do we interpret the graph for wheel speed (in white) and wind speed (in blue). If the blue curve is ABOVE the white curve what does that mean? And conversely if the blue curve is BELOW the white curve what does that mean? A recent ride (with NO drafting) I notice a big section ...

Combining PowerPod with a separate powermeter
Hi John I have been using the PowerPod for over a year now and I'm very happy with it. I've recently bought a TACX Neo trainer (to focus on my indoor training), which has its own onboard power meter. What's the best way to "align" the two power meters so that the power readings are close t...

Merging multiple ride files
Hi John I went on a very long ride - which went for about 12 hours in total. During that ride there were multiple lengthy stops, so I ended up with about 4 separate ride files - due to PP auto powering off and then me restarting it. For my first time, I used ISAAC to merge all 4 ride files (fairly e...

John
I had the same issue going downhill - and NOT PEDALLING it was showing 400W or thereabouts. It has never happened before in 10 months of usage. I have updated the ISAAC to version 4.1 recently. I don't know whats the cause.

Start stop riding - affect on PP when it powers off
Hi John On my rides sometimes we stop for an extended break - such as lunch. So PP will power down after I think about 20 min of inactivity. When I'm reading to restart my ride, my Garmin 520 just continues and I press the power button on PP. But sometimes it seems to take a long time (say a few min...

Changes to Customised Profile
Hi John A while back you customised/tweaked my PP profile. However, I have since changed my bike from 25mm tires to 28mm tires. My question is, can I/should update my wheel settings to 28mm? Will this affect the customimsed settings in any other way negatively? I guess this would also apply to my bo...

Re: Log files "missing"
Thanks John I followed your steps above. The latest file seems to be 03_30 - so something under a date of "March 30". I can remember I start/stopped Garmin Connect THREE times last night (as I could't get the PP connected) and in the PP log files I have TWO files under March 30. In any cas...

Hi John I have a separate thread (PP disconnecting) where you requested I upload the logs. So today I connected my PP to my ISAAC for MAC and I could see it transferring and saving the files. However, I cannot seem to locate the log files from last night. Strange. As I understand the file naming con...

Re: PowerPod disconnecting
Usually the green light will come on then later turn off but it doesn't seem to connect/show any power readings.
As a work around. I stop my garmin. Save my ride. Restart garmin then restart PP and all seems to work again.

PowerPod disconnecting
Hi John On a few occasions now, the PowerPod seems to disconnect. Here is an example of a scenario. Scenario 1 Turn on Garmin HRM sensor connects. Cadence/Speed sensor connects. I've now owned the PP for about 3 months and done over 1000km and wanted to share some good feedback to John and the community. John kindly helped me calibrate my PP and since then I've been trying to "test" it out as best I can. I don't own any other powermeter. I recently road a Strava s...

Calibration for tailwind/headwind consistency
Hi John I've noticed on a number of rides now (on a relatively flat out and back loop), that the power readings appear to vary by an inconsistently large amount for headwind versus tailwind power readings when applying the same perceived power to my pedalling. More specifically, when going into a he...

Hi John I have a question on how to be *sure* that I have correctly set the profile to #2 - to reflect the usage of the out-front mount. Background Like most people, I started with the standard handlebar mount. That worked fine. But later, I bought an out front mount (Fouriers branded). It is not ma...

Hi John I'm getting really confused. I'm doing all sorts of things and are getting "lost". Is there someway to completely and utterly reset everything and start again? I'm lost as I've already done the calibration - and now resetting it for the new front mount. But now, somehow I've got it...

Re: Power variance - out front mount vs handle bar mount
No, you start a new ride. Then you go for a 5 minutes or a bit more (not too long bcs. of changing wind conditions) ride with in best case no traffic and after 5 minutes you go back the exactly same way and stop the ride. Then download the file with ISAAC and choose the calibration check option for...

How do I do an out and back?
Do I redo the 5 minute calibration and ride 2.5 min out and then 2.5 min back?

Power variance - out front mount vs handle bar mount
Hi there John, I'm just fine tuning my PowerPod. I started with the handlebar mount and had it working well there. Ridden it about 12 times without issues. Wind scaling at default 1.4. I've since bought the front mount in the hope that this would help me get more accurate readings. Now, what I found...

When you get the chance can you reply to this. I posted it on DCR, and you asked me to post it here which I've now done.
Appreciated.
