Re: The beginning of my adventure with PP
Hi, ....... And at the end of my training I stop everything, and I always do 15 minutes of recovery, these data do not want to be part of the training. .......... Regards I disagree with that. The warmup and the recovery/warmdown are part of the whole training session and should be included in your...

Re: High power "artifacts" downhill and impact on calculatio
I agree about the "all out".
I did my updated FTP test yesterday using the Carmichael protocol and the first 8mins definitely felt "all out" being close to the "barf" point. !!!!

Re: High power "artifacts" downhill and impact on calculatio
If you search on Google there is research that has been done that shows that FTP can be estimated from full out efforts as little as 3 minutes. Look for Anni Vanhatalo research done in 2007. Also look at: http://trainright.com/cts-field-test-why-eight-minutes-not-20/ So Xert is basing their app and ...

Re: Indoor vs Outdoor: Best Routine?
For the first 8mins calibration you can also run the ride file through Issac, change initial data such as starting elevation or confirm the ride finished where it started, and Issac will rework the power data to values which will be closer to what they should have been for the the first 8mins. For m...

Re: Calibration
I do everything that is recommended to get the same position but my PowerPod very rarely skips the first 8min calibration. I have just accepted that is one of the quirks of this device. For me it isn't a major issue as the first 10 to 15mins of my rides are warm ups. If you want to correct the data ...

Re: Important firmware update--Dynamic rolling resistance
Did my first ride today with the new firmware.
Any chance that the DCRR adjustments can be shown in the CSV file created by Issac?
Would be interesting to see what variation there is in the DCRR.

Re: Calibration problem with an out-back ride.
@albafar - GC is a comprehensive training monitoring package similar to TrainingPeaks. Basically it stores all your rides so that you can keep track of your training performance by ride and also over all rides or any selected period. The main analysis revolves around a Performance Management Chart w...

Re: Calibration problem with an out-back ride.
Rob_B - This is what I do for each ride. Even though my PP always goes on in exactly the same position for each ride, 9 times out of 10 mine recalibrates for the first 6 to 8 minutes of my rides. I have just accepted that is part of using the PP and for me the first 10 to 15 minutes of each ride are...

Re: Zero Wind Speed
Thank you for the quick reply and explanation.
That makes sense about the wind have little impact on climbs.

Re: PowerPod + PowerStroke/Tracker
PowerStroke is always turned "on" in PowerPod. You get about 27 hours of data, so if if you do long rides simply download your ride each time, then erase the ride memory. Is this correct if PowerStroke is activated? I have PowerStroke activated and the ride I did today which was just over...

Zero Wind Speed
Hi John,
What if any is the significance of the various periods of zero wind speed in the attached ride file.
Ride started and finished at the same place. Local ground winds were calm to about 5mph.
I guess I am trying to understand what wind speed is measuring?
