I agree with both of those statements!

Pitot tube testing
I've had a few rides where the wind readings seem "off" - e.g. headwinds of the type where you have to pedal downhill to avoid decelerating, but reported as 3-5mph. Or tailwinds when there doesn't seem to be one. It's not offset/consistent enough to be certain about, but it would be useful...

Best way to handle commuting with a rucksack
This is similar to another thread from last year, but different enough to be worth asking. I ride what is basically the same route from home to work & back, but sometimes it's for exercise/training & sometimes it's the way to get from A to B. On the latter I often have a significant sized ru...

Re: Power Reading Dropouts between Garmin 1000 and PowerPod
Exactly. It appears that the problem is not in the PowerPod, which seems to have recorded the ride normally, but in the PP to Garmin transmission or in the Garmin itself. First time this has happened. The issues appear to be Garmin & given the pattern in the 820 may well be software. Garmin seem...

Re: Power Reading Dropouts between Garmin 1000 and PowerPod
I would restart both your Garmin and your PP. We have had no reports of this from others... It#s probably worth reminding you about the same issue with the Garmin 820. This looks to be exactly the same thing. https://www.velocompforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=4096&p=22019&hilit=820+drop...

Actually, the light sometimes flashes yellow too - just to make you think that "this time it might work".

Re: failed calibration
I've got the same problem - calibration "power" rises to 50W & then seems to carry on rising. Stopping completely & then restarting the "back" portion of the ride results in hitting 100W at the correct point on the road, but then the light carries on flashing red/green &a...

Re: Edge 1000 auto sleep
Sounds like the problem that I have had with the 820. I get dropped connections/no power/intermittent power if the Garmin is awake before the powerpod & this seems to happen with the Garmin "sleep" as well as the routine required when the Garmin has been fully turned off. John has esta...

Crr & CdA (& also gradient) - possible PP/Isaac features?
Trying to take my mind off of a hill I had a couple of thoughts about "extras" that could possible work - I think First off (& you can guess where the idea came from) there's a sensitive & carefully calibrated accelerometer in the PP that knows what angle (to the horizontal) the PP...

Re: Garmin 820 signal dropouts
It's definitely an intermittent problem. Keep trying :) Here's the first 13 mile stretch of my ride on Saturday. JB-Garmin.jpg JB-PP.jpg You can see that the power recorded in the Garmin after the reboot is... more realistic than before (You can spot the feed stops & the disastrous puncture stop...

Re: Garmin 820 signal dropouts
I also have only ANT+, although IIRC I have a model that would accept a BLE key if I needed it. My Garmin is on 7.0 & dropped power from the whole of the first 20km ride of the 200k I did on Saturday. Rebooted the Garmin & everything seemed to go fine for the rest of the day. It could be a r...

Re: Garmin 820 signal dropouts
We continue to investigate this: 1) Darkstar, please post your .ibr file that has both the PowerPod and Garmin information in it (you posted a screen shot of power meter comparison (PMC) for your .ibr file). Albafar, if you have a .ibr ride file with Garmin information, please post that one, too! 2...

Re: Garmin 820 signal dropouts
I'll try a different battery (it's a magnetless Garmin sensor).
There are times when the power reading on the head unit it "---W" so I don't think that it's a simple matter of showing 0W when the cadence is 0.

Garmin 820 signal dropouts
Not strictly a Powerpod issue, but one that I know that at least one other person has had it. I'm exploring it further in the Garmin forums, but I thought it might be useful to share it here too. https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?362731-Powermeter-dropouts-on-820/page5 (John, your thoughts wo...

Tyre Pressures (& sizes)
More of an idle musing than anything that I think will make a huge difference to my power output. However, most of us do ride with different pressures in the front & rear tyres. For a complicated set of reasons I also have different width tyres on the bike at the moment too (28 rear, 25 front) a...

Re: changing handlebars configuration
I've found that putting a Sportive number behind the Powerpod upsets the wind detection (a sort of reverse wind shadow effect).
I guess that it would be OK to the left of the PP, but a significant block to the wind on the right would likely do the same thing (IMHO).

Re: race number plate and powerpod
In my experience if you mount the number plate behind the powerpod then you get some very strange results for power - I assume that the disruption of wind/airflow is to blame.
Either mount it on the opposite handlebar, or wrap the number around the headtube.

O&B calibration - variation
Long story short, I have done 2 O&B rides on the same bike, with the same everything - & have 2 somewhat different calibration results. Same route, so apart from the wind I can't figure out where the difference comes from & whether one, both or neither is correct. What am I missing?? 1: ...

Tubeless Tyres
I'm using tubeless tyres, with sealant, on my road bike.
The setup in Isaac for tyres seems to need me to claim that these are standard clinchers with inner tubes, running at a lower pressure than standard.
I'm not sure if this is an issue or not in calculating power & Crr!
