Re: PowerPod showing extremely high wattage numbers midway through rides.
"Your ride file shows a consistent tail wind; a sure indicator of a miscalibrated unit. You can do a new cal ride and post the results here. Note that if your cal ride is good you should see average windspeed nearly the same as average bike speed." Ok, thanks. Any certain obvious tips on ...

Re: PowerPod showing extremely high wattage numbers midway through rides.
Thanks for the swift reply. Therefore: 1) No more pedalling ever on downhills (even slightly) if reliable and valid power numbers are expected. 2) Will try a 3rd calibration ride if weather permits - otherwise will leave it for next season. 3) Any good tips or hacks to help assures a *good* calibrat...

Re: PowerPod showing extremely high wattage numbers midway through rides.
Hello, So, after contacting technical support and exchanging a few trouble-shooting emails back-forth, we have unfortunately ascertained that the Powerpod unit's accelerometer I was referring to in these posts, is broken and unfix-able because no more parts nor replacement units are available - or h...

Hello, "Your accelerometer is misbehaving. I would do a hard reset of the unit, then a new cal ride. If that doesn't straighten things out then you can send it in for service, but I'm not confident we will be able to fix it." As explained in my message - I've already tried hard resetting s...

PowerPod showing extremely high wattage numbers midway through rides.
Dear John, I have 3 Powerpods. One of them is showing extremely high wattage numbers midway through rides. As high as 2-3000 or more watts! Have tried resetting back to factory condition and re-calibrating it several times with the out and back rides. No, the handlebar, or the PP mount is not moving...

Ok - Just checked now. 08 02 16 08 05 A0 00 01 01 03 02 B3 7E 10 A4 Looks like I'm missing the 'lucky 93' numbers in the PP lottery of serial number versions. :( 1. So does that mean no-go for both Powerhouse and Powerstroke capabilities with all PPs already out there without the 'lucky 93' in their...

Powerhouse vs Powerstroke apps? Hi John, I also have an Ant+ only PP. Can you pleae confirm whether my PP version is indeed compatible with both Powerhouse AND Powerstroke? Q/ Re. 'Rechaging once a week.'
What if my bike is in the garage from December to March? Do I still need to recharge the PP weekly, or can I let it go as-is and re-commence charging weekly next spring?
Thanks

@gooserider: Doubletapping the same button may inevitably lead to accidental on/offs...or entering calibration modes...and frustrated customers. Too much to ask frm 1 button...and us feeble minded customers, myself included!

Re: PowerPod recalibrating during rides
Velocomp, in that case perhaps PP would definitely benefit from a simple "off" button - when you design a future version.
(Otherwise, it's a bit like Hotel California ' where you can enter - but you can only leave after 20 minutes of being motionless)

Re: PowerPod recalibrating during rides
Perhaps unrelated to your issue but Ive had similar recalibrations occur at beginning of a ride twice this summer. It may have been because I pressed on the PP "on" button for too long at the beginning of my 2 rides...but I'm not sure. Just like your scenario - wattage was all over the map...

Did you yank or toque the PP charging port's usb connection by any chance?
It may be a potential hardware "achilles heel" of PP...if not handled with care.

What's your point? I have the good luck of seeing a 35 yr old very strong cyclist who loves to smoke - and even takes a cigarette break during Cat 1, 2 jamfest mid-ride breaks!! Yikes. Re: PowerStroke upgrade $99 - Is it really that much value a
It (Power Stroke software) certainly may "open eyes", but to be honest, many world class (or amateur) cyclists, runners, swimmers etc. do not necessarily have identical, mirror-image, L vs R lower or upper extremity movement/control/stroke ... but it hasn't necessarily stopped them from wi...

Imho one has to be very careful to insert the usb wire the right way and gently into the PP's usb port, and not to cause any tension or torque while the wire is in the port, otherwise one risks damaging the port - hence no more charging...

@lambrettaman: Cool. I used to hve a 2 stroke engine Lambretta many yrs ago! Fun to ride...until an oncoming driver made a sudden left turn and I went right into the car, flying over. Cracked helmet, bruised bones but ok overall. Ended up selling it a year later.
