Check Calibration feature in Isaac, should I use it after calibration ride?
Hello, I performed today aero tests. Before them I did factory reset of my aeropod and performed new setup followed by calibration ride. After tests, when I connected aeropod to Isaac and tried to download ride data, I saw Check Calibration dialog (attached): "This ride appears to be a good one...

Difference in CdA calculations: Aeropod vs Isaac
Hello, I performed aero tests yesterday with the goal to test my current bike setup with 2 helmets and then the same with saddle moved back. I tested each configuration in 3 runs (out and back loop), starting with Aeropod calibration ride (after factory reset and installation of the most recent firm...

Re: CdA readings from tests
Hello John, as always - I'm very impressed with the level of details and clarity you provide in your answers. Thank you for that! I'm really happy that you are going to release related firmware update soon, as - from what I understand - it will bring Aeropod to higher level of usability in field tes...

CdA readings from tests
Hello, last weekend I conducted calibration + 4 out/back tests with Profile 4. In general I wanted to compare two helmets, both tested in the same TT position and bike setup. I send results of this session attached to this post. Every test was approx. 9,5km in distance. I did calibration ride in hel...

Re: Question about data from my ride
Hello John, thank you for your answer. For sure profile 4 set wrongly me is not the reason, as I set the device to profile 3 before every test I do. I use Aeropod for over year know, red all instructions and did many such tests already. Please, look at attached screenshot. Could you please take a lo...

Question about data from my ride
Hello John, On Tuesday I tested changed TT position on my bike. The test was done on racetrack with good asphalt. The test was 3 laps / 12km in total @ 345W average power, and it was preceded by calibration ride. Could you please take a look at ibr file, which came out of that ride? At least I can se...

Re: Testing of helmets - success reproducing results across sessions
Interesting post, thanks for sharing this. I have a questions to your post: how do you find a realiable value for Crr in your tests if they are done not on the same day or maybe at different locations? With typical settings my Aeropod assumes Crr=0.00455. I ride Vittoria Corsa Speed G+ 2.0 TLR, whic...

Questions to results from aero testing
Hello John, today in aero tests I wanted to compare two TT helmets (Kask Mistral and Giro Aerohead) plus check how my CdA changes when I ride with arm cups narrow or wide with each helmet. I performed 8 tests: 2 for each helmet with arm cups narrow / wide configuration. Every test was out and back r...

Re: Too big differences in CdA
Thank you John! That clears lot of things. Do you think I should hard reset my device and recalibrate it because of this wind related issue, or just do next ride and check it again? And do you think that this difference in CdA Analysis and calculation based on HR channel (with HR * 4 / 1000 formula)...

Too big differences in CdA
Dear John, I have an issue which I cannot explain related to significant difference of CdA readings from Aeropod. I'm updated to the most recent version of AP firmware, and my device is set to Profile 3. I rode two TT rides, first one on 06.06.2020, second one on 16.06.2020. The same track, actually...

Re: TT bike mounting
Hello John, thank you! I have two additional questions. 1) First is about the difference in calculations. If I separate my TT effort (attached to this post), it gives me average HR of 58.6, what corresponds to calculation given by you for my CdA ((58.6+180) / 1000 = .2386). Actually, I used Profile ...

Re: TT bike mounting
Hello John, I did today calibration ride and regular ride (incl. 12km long time trial). As you asked, I post both files here. Are they OK in your opinion? One additional question: while setting profile in Isaac I was asked about "Device Mount Location" (Handlebar, Stem, Front Mount). What ...

Re: TT bike mounting
Hello John,
What do you think about this way of mounting AP? It's very stiffly mounted to the bike, however I'm not sure if distance to bike frame (~1,5cm gap) will work fine for all its sensors.
Thank you for your answer.
Regards,
Bartosz

Differences between test rides
Hello, today I rode several test rides to test different configurations of my cockpit. Every ride was about 3km long - 1,5km out, turn 180 degrees and 1,5km back. The way out I perceived as headwind ride, the way back felt like a tailwind ride. I had the same helmet, the same shoes, the same suit. F...

When to use Analyze in Isaac
Hello, I've just read this post: https://velocompforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=5238 and I'm really impressed by the analysis you did there. I have more general question: is there any rule when one should use actions from menu "Analyze" while comparing test rides? E.g.: - Should I alwa...

Re: Strange differences between CdA values
Hello John, Before your first answer to my question I rode a time trial on the same racing circuit as my previous rides. Not knowing your request I hadn't done any hard reset before that ride, just turned aeropod on, paired it with my other sensors (exactly the same bike and equipment as with previo...

Re: Strange differences between CdA values
Do I need to repeat configuration in Isaac, pairing of other sensors and do another calibration ride (out and back) before it, or it's not required?

Bartosz

Strange differences between CdA values
Dear Velocomp team, I'm a new user to Aeropod, just bought it and followed all configuration discussed in your documentation and instructional videos from Youtube. I have following questions: 1) Last week I did calibration ride, and after that several rides within a time frame of ~1,5h. Environmenta...
