Gravel question
Hi i just set up PP V3 for my gravel bike rather than previous road bikes where was working well and has some questions. I did the cal ride and updated weight etc, and on the ride gave numbers that were sensible, if a little low. When i downloaded and analysed it said CRR was 0.017 vs what is recomm...

Re: Wind and slope stop reporting but power ok
When i downloaded the files for the ride into Isaac, it appears that as i stopped the PP to save battery life during the ride, it saved all the rides as seperate files, however, my garmin only recorded the power once the second part of the ride commenced. This is interesting as the wind on the garmi...

Wind and slope stop reporting but power ok
Just did a big 250km ride, after 60km we stopped for coffee and I turned my PP and garmin off. After I reconnected and power was ok, but after ride, wind and slope were a flat line, any ideas why that might be

calibration screen
Hi I have asked before but never really got a good answer. The instructions for calibration says the out will stop and hold at 50 count until come to a stop and then start on the back leg to 100, however, my PP3 never does this, it will continue past 50, and due to the 3-6 second delay will often re...

Re: Powerpod V3 causing drops in estimated cadence
FWIW I have the same issue but I have a wahoo cadence sensor and Garmin 530 and PP3 . I have another bike / profile with Garmin sensors and no dropouts. Exhibits the same behaviour as previously described, intermittent reducing in cadence for a few seconds to low 60.

Re: Adding hr sensor at a later date
I know my HR sensor ID, but on a recalibtration it didnt get picked up. How do i activate the HR strap when "wireless enabled" green check button cannot be activated by clicking on it, its not a on/off button but just an information button, so i can add the HR ID into the text boxes, but c...

Re: PPv3 suddenly went out (battery ok)
Of interest I have had exactly the same happen twice - hard reset fixes it.
Perhaps for the tech team, i noticed that at the exact time my cadence sensor went to zero rpm and stayed zero, (all on ANT+) so something must be going wrong with the communication protocol somewhere

Re: New cal ride
One bike was 1.05 and the other 1.3 wind scale, associated aero/friction the same proportional difference. . Everything else the same (both road bike of similar weight, 25mm tyres at same pressure etc)

Re: New cal ride
Interesting, I have 2 bikes both with minus 0.7 degree tilt yet different aero/friction value (with some crr etc.), so must have another variable in how it's calculated. I guess my ultimate aim was to understand what calibration actually does relative to the numbers produced and understand for compa...

Re: New cal ride
Thanks John tech support assisted and fixed the issue, they said after sensor pairing to ride for 10-15s to get red/green flash, not press the button to get yellow light and then red/green as per what the instructions say. Once did that everything worked. If i have two road bikes of the same Crr, th...

New cal ride
Hi I have changed my PP location so wanted to do a new set of cal rides across my three bikes so deleted profiles by reset unit in Isaac. Set up first bike, cal ride worked well. Downloaded details and then set second bike as active profile, but as I have seen in the past the cal ride didn't go the ...

Re: Calibration effect
Thanks for the information If I have 3 profiles for seperate bikes (all mounted in same position on handlebars) are the following set of numbers acceptable as aero/windscale/friction/tilt, or should I be recalibrating any? Is their a specific numerical equation that when these numbers are inputted s...

power average vs NP
Hi When i look at a downloaded file my average power differs to the file my Garmin uploads. I was wondering does the isaac software include or exclude zero power time in the average calculation. my NP values are far closer, only a few watts difference, but aerage power can be 20% off. Secondly, uplo...

Calibration effect
Hi After reading nearly every article in the forum and a lot of your assistance, could you explain what calibration actually does in real terms, given the PP is continually rechecking the mounting angle every 90 seconds? If this is true, and the accelerometer is accurate, what purpose does a calibra...

Re: CDa estimate
Apologies. Let me clarify. If the app calculates my cda at a value 0.032 for the parameters input, what variability could it really be i.e. would it be 0.032 +/- a fraction, , or could it be a wide range and the value given is just a best guess. My question really is how much error can be present in...

CDa estimate
Hi How much variation can you expect with the CDa estimation value vs what real world may be...if you add your height/weight/riding position what is the likely range of value in the real world vs the 0.032 the software estimates (for my size), can it have a significant effect or is it unusual that i...

What does calibration set
Hi When you do a cal ride, is this only to establish the wind scaling and angle, does a calibration modify any settings not visible in the profile section? When we do a check calibration is this just modifying those data field just on the basis of a longer distance and therefore more accurate data c...

Re: When to adjust ride data?
Thanks The ride differences are due to where i started / stopped...the wheels on both bikes are both identical circumference, to within 1mm, both same brand 25mm tyres at same pressure. Do you see anything with the setup / data that suggests a difference is calibration related, as all the rides i do...

Re: When to adjust ride data?
2. i meant the "wind changed" check box in analyse ride 3. I have attached three ride files from last three days. Bike 1 is the bike i believe is giving hirer power, but has been calibrated twice and the check calibration give nearly identical numbers Bike 2 ride 1 and two are the other bi...

Re: No power reading on edge 820
Apologies for the late reply. I see dashes not zeroes. As per previous post i have made on this one, perhaps one ride in 10 the values appear, no matter which order i turn the units on
BTW any chance you will put a version out for regular PP that just has slope and wind on?

When to adjust ride data?

Elevation / pressure
I know elevation isn't important, its the relative change that is, but will this affect the total power calculated if i ride in the morning and then later in the day home when the weather is different?, and i join the two files together in the software(so i can upload to strava as one ride)? Current...

Re: No power reading on edge 820
I have a Garmin 530 bluetooth connection PP v3 to Garmin at same time as garmin to phone, no problems. Sensors connected over ANT. Cal ride vs 4 second reset
As i have been having a few problems with my various bike setups I decided to do a hard reset and start again. I set a profile in Isaac from start of process and uploaded, first bike went well, a ride with _calride_ in title appeared. Transferred to a second bike and the cal ride started as normal, ...

Re: PowerPod V3 transmits slope and wind too!
I still can't get this to display except directly after a cal ride (on garmin 530). I have tried rebooting multiple times after first connecting to powerpod, change from Bluetooth the Ant connection and back again, none of which works.
Any ideas where to go next?
