Re: reading green tilt lines
Interesting discussion-- as to the tilt going out on climbs, I've seen this on my own files. Now it makes more sense why it's happening. Travis, you wrote that switching from to the hoods should make the tilt more negative--is this assuming that the switch is from aero-bars to hoods? (If that was c...

One mount solution
The stem mount would not fit on my stem as the stem OD was 6-7mm bigger than the mount ID. John sent a handlebar mount. Initially using the handlebar mount was problematic. I tried the included foam gasket, but that provided a less than stable mount. Complicating things, my "OS" bars decre...

Re: So, where is that folder?
Search your computer for files that begin with "iBike"; unless you've changed the default name you'll be able to find where your ride files are hiding. I've got a folder I made for my rides, but I never found the folder that iBike had as default. I used Spotlight, and it found nothing. It...

So, where is that folder?
Where is that default folder to which iBike saves ride data? I've defined my own default folder, but when I first used older versions of iBike, I'd occasionally forget to change the folder; iBike would save the data to its default; and the data would disappear into, maybe, another dimension.

Re: Adjusting slope question
Yeah but the overall climbing on the way to work is ~650'. At times for the trip to work the climbing total displayed is as low as 510 or as high as 780 depending on the barometric changes. So what is getting distorted either to the low or high side are the camel humps along the way along with the ...

Re: why is elevation different for intervals on the same course?
That may be. Regardless, the goal is to slow the rush of air past the small bottom hole; that's where the pressure sensor is seeing a drop in pressure hence an increase in altitude. At least that's how I interpret what's going on. Travis? I'm going to glue some little something around the hold with...

Re: why is elevation different for intervals on the same course?
No, there is no air flow through the unit. So I'm picturing a tiny cylinder with a small screen to minimize the turbulence at the bottom side hole. Maybe something like the metal mesh of a coffee filter; allow air flow (critical) but shelter the hole from direct airflow. No, I don't think what you'...

Re: Systemic tilt error
I've another quasi-tilt related idea: it be groovy iffin' there was a way to, with a button push or two, to switch to a second profile, third, and etc. profile. In fact, if there an isolated button on the face for this purpose, I think it'd be well worth the redesign. If nothing else, such a button ...

Re: why is elevation different for intervals on the same course?
I've seen this regularly on my flat intervals also. Does the air "enter" the hole or does it pass through after entering the wind port? It the air enters, as a workaround until the Gen III comes out :?: , can we consider shielding this? Obviously not to block it in any way; rather to shie...

Re: Adjusting riding tilt in a profile
I have to reiterate my success with ShoeGoo. I use the stickies, as well as the Goo. There was a significant improvement in tilt behavior after application of the Goo. As a bonus, it cleans up easily. From a physics point of view coupling Goo or epoxy with the stickies may help even more by narrowi...

Re: Adjusting riding tilt in a profile
Temperature readings will always respond slowly since temperature sensors are typically the slowest of all sensors. Air temperature's effect on barometric pressure/altitude readings is insignificant. The values for temp and barometric pressure are, if you're talking about temp and pressure at any po...

Re: Adjusting riding tilt in a profile
With respect to bein' sure that the iBike mount is as rigid as possible, I found that putting Shoe Goo on the inside surfaces of the mount clamp--but not covering the double sided tape--noticeably firmed things up. It was a doddle to remove the excess Shoe Goo and have the mount look ungoo'd.

Re: Altitude vs Power
Maybe there's a rule of thumb out there, but the reality is that there's no quasi-accurate way to say. How you perform at altitude depends on your level of acclimitization and a host of other factors that are specific to you.

Re: Tubeless vs. Tubed clincher comparison via CDs
There's a lot that needs to be held constant to compare cRR between tires: pressure, temperature, road surface roughness, rim width, and other things. cRR is not an easy thing to pin down in absolute terms. Tests done by manufacturers and magazines typically are done on one kind of surface--usually ...

Re: Features I would like to see?
After two whole rides with the iBike, the thing I'd most like to see is a firmware upgrade that does a realtime temperature compensation on the wind offset. It seems to change quite a lot during a ride... and unlike the tilt there is really no good check on the wind. Even on an out-back or loop rid...

Re: Wireless stem mount
Even better: machine a shim/spacer to fit between the mount and the stem and still holds the iBike parallel to the road. The shim would be fastened to the iBike via the iBike mount's 2 screws (shorter screws) and two threaded holes in the shim/spacer. Put two slots in spacer for zip ties. No bottom ...

Re: Wireless stem mount
Banjo piece? Do you mean the clamp on the bottom of the mount? On your stem, what is the plastic piece between the mount clamp and the bars? How did you hold the mount/clamp in position while you laid in epoxy? I wonder how using JB Weld instead of epoxy would work? I've got access to a machine shop...

Re: Wireless stem mount
What's wrong with some slots in the mount for zip ties? That's an easy solution. If you really have a stem mount, I think there should be a slot for a zip tie. Edit: I have to take that back. I have a high-angle version setting here at my computer that has the zip tie slot, but I just checked the l...

Wireless stem mount
There has got to be a second option for wireless stem mounts. The one option now is great if you've got a big ol' fat stem; however, as it happens, not everyone has a big ol' fat stem. Stem manufacturers have yet to retire non-oversized stems to the pasture, nor is there any reason for them to do so...

Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset
For the tilt and wind, I do both in the setup screen. Like I said before, I have a spot marked on my garage that I know is -.3% If the bike is sitting there and not at that number, I redo the tilt calibration. You can perform as many tilt calibrations as you would like, it will not affect your stor...
