Hi John,
Thanks for the tip. I'll setup a new profile on my AeroPod and let you know if that fixes the problem.
Cheers

The firmware is 7.15. In addition, I don't have a DFPM. I've attached my ride file from today and profile[for you to take a look at.

AeroPod Trying to Pair to Sensor After a Stop
Hi, I getting an odd behaviour with my AeroPod. While out on a group ride and stopping for a while, long enough for my Garmin to go to sleep, the following happens. When I wake my Garmin and AeroPod up, my AeroPod ends up pairing with a DFPM from someone else's bike and going into calibration mode. ...

Looks very interesting. Does the pitot tube have to be used all the time or only for more accurate reading and Cda measurement.

Power Data Transmission
Hi, When the power data from a Newton is transmitted to another device such as a Garmin Edge, are the values based on the smoothing applied by the Newton, or are they the raw power values second by second? Just curious as I have my Newton set to Dynamic and was wondering if that might effect the pow...

Garmin Speed/Cadence Sensors
Hi,
Will the newer Garmin separate speed/cadence sensors work with a Newton? I need to replace my old GSC 10 unit as it's no longer transmitting speed, cadence is fine, and I just changed the battery.
Cheers

This so true. If I need to rescan I try to do it home to minimize the chance of picking up someone else's unit.Pete wrote:And be careful where/when you do a scan for sensors

Try clearing the DFPM device number from the profile in ISSAC and reloading the profile.nsidirop wrote:Is there a feature in Newton so I can prevent getting other riders DFPM data?
This keeps happening lately and is a little bit frustrating.

Re: DC Rainmaker full review
It is a very fair review. If we get a chance we will ask Donald Trump (who just did a press conference in the same town where our Velocomp factory is) to build a cobblestone street nearby for our testing. :D He could use the left over materials from the wall he's going to build. ;) I thought review...

Front Mount Question
Hi, I was installing my front mount solo and as a result of miss-reading the torque number on the mount I broke one of the bolts. I miss read 1.5 as 15 as the decimal point was hard to see. I can replace the bolt locally with out a problem but I'm concerned I may have damaged the threads or the moun...

Re: Using Cycleops Powercal
I believe the PowerCal transmits its "power" data over ANT+. Assuming it does, do a Scan and it will pair as a DFPM. I've seen PowerCal data. Saying that it is similar to real power data over endurance rides is like saying the high temperature in New York City, averaged over a one year pe...

Re: What about prices?
That was great explanation of how power meters come up the numbers for watts. So at the end of the day all those years of hearing about how the iBike only calculates or "estimates" power has really been a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Thank for the great write up John.

Here's another thought on costs. When competitors come out with new hardware do they take a trade in on the old units and give you a new one at a reduced cost? I don't think so.

Hi, DC Rainmaker has just published his 2014 Power Meter Buyer's Guide . According to him iBike doesn't update very often. Will the automatic profile detection be able to handle multiple profiles for the same bike? For instance, I use one set of wheels for training and another for racing. The training wheel are heavier while my race wheels are lighter with a deeper aero profile.

Hi,
Has there been any thoughts around making a mobile version of Isaac for Android and Apple mobile devices. It would be nice to have a version you run on a tablet for when you travel.
Cheers!

Re: DCRainmaker orders an iBike Newton
I predict no matter how the review comes off iBike will still be treated as something that only "estimates" power, especially by the DFPM fan boys over at the wattage forum. I did take DCRainmaker to task in power meter round up article that he was basing his opinion of the iBike on tests ...
