Re: Auto Trip Reset: Feature or Failure?
I guess allowing so much input from users causes these conflicts. Not really given to much thought to this but what about 3 levels of firmware. Say Recreational, sport and racer Make certain functions available to each user group. Charge a small fee to up/downgrade. This would likely reduce the inci...

Re: Problems with calibration rides and coastdowns....
My wife does the endurance stuff. I just want to use a power meter and cycling to get fit. She did IMC last year (12:56) Just did Sylvan Lake 1/2, not sure of her time yet but she did the bike in 2:57. She has an Iaero on her bike and its fine (we believe) she just never did the fit test yet. Too bu...

Re: Problems with calibration rides and coastdowns....
Hi JR. I am no expert and yes I have had significant problems establishing a profile. I have had big differences in the numbers each time I have used the same piece of road. I have no problem about consistency, what my concern is, is the accuracy (for me) of an incorrect profile. I do not want to do...

Re: What causes....
Thanks folks, the unit was defaulted back to 80 (or whatever), even though I re sent the profile. I guess that data is not stored in the profile or is it? It would be a useful addition to be able to input that into the advanced profile area and send it to the unit. Question for Racerfern (or anybody...

Re: New iAero mount
Interesting. Does the tilt get affected? Its quite a lever acting on the bars isn't it? I tried something similar, but that was my problem, couldn't even get a profile to save, I figured too much flex in the bars. Is there another piece attached to the cross piece attached between the bars? I don't ...

Any ideas?

Re: screen glare
I have yet to experience a glare issue. Never even considered it. Mind you, Alberta roads (except when you get into the Rockies) are on a grid, north/south west/east maybe that has something to do with it, along with the time I ride. Not many turns. I suppose we will soon need to see an anti glare d...

Re: V4 calibration results - Coastdowns
Do you mean your wind scaling was a little bit high, not low? What was it? I analysed my last out/back, the one with the 1.279 wind scaling and had an avg ground wind of .5MPH. I am not sure I could get a better condition than that. Boyd has suggested a similar procedure to what you have done but I ...

Re: V4 calibration results - Coastdowns
By the way, how is the wind port calibrated. What causes the wind scaling to be one number or another? Which aspect of set up is the wind scaling calibration. Perhaps if I got that info I would be closer to understanding why I am not achieving consistent, repeatable results for obtaining a profile t...

Re: V4 calibration results - Coastdowns
But presumably when going more than 1 mile out you should not fall below the 8mph limit? I ask this because, again presumably, the ibike will view this as the turnaround? Or does it not operate like that?

Yes, I mean wind scaling. WS on the modified profile, the one Boyd did for me is 3.979 Aero 1.293, fric 6.506 weight 172 riding tilt -0.3 CDA .325 Crr 0.0055 contrast that with my latest effort Wind Scaling 1.747 Aero 0.667, CdA 0.382 Fric 4.344 Riding Tilt -0.4 Crr 0.0017 I would do a screen shot b...

Re: V4 calibration results - Coastdowns
Was there a resolution to this? I have the same issues and I think they are related to wind scaling and CRR. CRR is always around 0.0012 Wind scaling has been 4.74(I think) down to 1.787 the latter coming on a day that pegged the avg grnd wind at .7 on the out/back I have asked coach Boyd for some h...

Re: Question on new iBike 3.05 Software NP/IF/TSS
I have a similar issue. Some of my previous (to f/w 4) rides show NP only and if I apply a previous profile to a new ride I get NP on its own. If I go back to the actual ride profile, the NP/IF/TSS return. I wonder if my issue is to do with the length of time taken between ride and download. When th...

Did you try new batteries in the head unit and/or cadence & speed sensors. I got this issue last weekend.
But then changed out the battery in the head unit and was back in business.
Best of luck

Using NP IF and TSS during a 1/2 event
I am seeking opinions on the above for my wifes next 1/2 IM distance event. We have yet to get her FTP exactly, we have guessed it based on her percieved effort on the last few rides she has completed. We hope to send her out and complete it soon, but her training is not really allowing for it. She ...

Re: Calgary calibration
Sorry can't help with Calgary but if you should find yourself coming to Sylvan Lake for a weekend, come out to Rainy Creek Rd, 8 KM north on h/w 20 then west om TWP 40, its an awesome stretch of road. Its part of the Sylvan 1/2 IM route.

Re: Problems with Process Cal Ride and Coast-Downs
Got the same error message yesterday following a tilt, wind offset coast downs and then 2 bad cal rides on our Iaero on a bike with aero bars. I am in contact with Aaron and awaiting a reply. If I do the hard reset will I need to re-do tilt before she does coast downs or can she use the tilt and cd'...

OK, thanks Boyd.
How would I know then, that I have a good profile if I were a complete novice wanting to start training with power?
Assuming I do have a poor set of cd's and calib ride on the second unit?
Bex
I am a complete novice by the way.

Re: Can someone explain this please
So, even though I used the same bike, clothes and equipment and mount stayed in the same place, to create a profile (for me) on each unit, because of the nature of the device, they can give quite different results (for the profile) Will the power numbers be the same? Or is it more likely I messed up...

Can someone explain this please
I have two units, an Ipro and an I aero (for my triathlete wife) I did coast downs and cal rides for both units, different dates, just for something to do. I did a 16 mile ride a few days ago and believe the numbers were correct at an average of 215 watts. I went to tools/switch profile after ride a...

And I thought I was the one that had that sort of luck! I wonder if we could be related. Another epoxy thought to add to the mix, epoxy putty. We just bought some at the Walmart check out and used it to mold a new base to a busted plastic clock we have. I cannot believe how hard it sets, and best of...

Re: Tilt Settings
As a follow up to my previous post, I had some time discussing this with Aaron at Velocomp (by email). He suggested I do the tilt sitting on the bike. This enabled me to get beyond a "Bad coast" when doing my initial set up. It was done on a tt bike. Stem mount, bars far apart (not what I ...

Is it not the case that this first 5 minutes is recalculated in the IB3 software and corrected, so that what we see when we view the ride file is what it would have been had we done a tilt calibration? I believe I have a very similar "issue" with my gen3 Iaero. Tilt is off. My mount is rock solid. Good batteries in mount, unit and sensors. Bike is left out with unit on to get up to ambient temp. Not sure what is left to do. I have had a few issues getting the coast downs and calibration ...
