Re: What is wrong with Power and Slope data?
Your tilt is off by a country mile. "Normal" tilt is about -.5, yours is -50.9! Additionally, your wind scaling is way off IF these are essentially out/back rides. Attached is a more normal profile however, I suggest you do a real out/back cal ride to nail down the wind scaling. The excess...

Open the ride file in Isaac then click Tools>Repair>Fix Date and Time
Then click yes to change the filename.
Finally, click Device>Get Tracker GPS data.

Re: Wind data might be off???
Glad it all worked out! I honestly don't have any idea why the wind was off on this ride. But it makes sense that based on your previous statement I did check Out-and-back initially, but when I did that the power numbers jumped and I saw an average increase in power of about 30W for the whole ride. ...

Re: Wind data might be off???
Did it feel like a 133w AVG or 166w? You can certainly tell the difference between those two numbers. You did the same thing I always do. I do not check out/back because that forces the wind to about zero. Entering the start/end elevation only makes a minor adjustment for any changes in barometric p...

Re: Wind data might be off???
George, you're a 100% right. I haven't done a wind offset check in about 6 months so I completely forgot about it. I think a number less than 2 is fine. Perhaps the day of your ride was an exception weather wise, so try to do the wind offset in "normal" conditions as far as temp and humidi...

Re: Wind data might be off???
Agreed, the wind seems low. However... 1) How much vehicular traffic did you have to deal with? A roundabout means you were on roads with cars. It's amazing how much the wind is pushed along with you by cars. 2) Check your wind port. About once a year I GENTLY clean it with a Q-Tip. Give it a rap ag...

Re: Isaac detects drafting when no actual drafting
If Isaac sees a period of time with a substantial tailwind it will assume you drafted.
I personally have no boxes checked and I enter my own starting and ending elevation. The results are absolutely consistent and repeatable.

Re: TT mount without RWS
You might be OK as far as the wind port goes but you need to be very careful how you mount it. If you mount from one of the aerobars I'm concerned your pulling on the bars will skew the the power numbers. Note that the end average results as far as AP and NP will probably be correct because the Newt...

Re: Check calibration
Cal ride should be used on the subsequent ride which should be identical to the cal ride. Do a cal ride, turn around and do the same ride as an out/back. No need to even start a new ride, Newton does it automatically. Download and check cal. If you regularly use check cal to check anything and every...

Re: Tilt measuring and repairing bad tilt eide
Do a regular ride and at the end of the ride press and hold the center button to reset the ride.
The next time you do a ride, check the tilt as you have previously and it should be correct.
However, I can't remember if it does this auto correct after a ride or only after a cal ride?

Re: Wind Question & how do I correct it?
I still think you're overestimating the wind effects in a cross wind situation. Granted, crosswinds can be a challenge but I think mostly because our body tends to disturb the wind flow as it gets to Newton. However, I still think the difference is minimal and not something you should make correctio...

Re: Wind Question & how do I correct it?
@Russ: Sorry for the delay, life got in the way; again. I looked at both files, returning to the original download and I have to honestly say your efforts are not worth the time IMO. The 46km is virtually unchanged. For the 43km ride, there is more of a difference than in the 46km. However, I think ...

The difference between a winter setup and a summer setup is not significant. Look for a 40 degree day (may not be possible where you live) and do your cal ride. The results will work just fine.

Re: Wind Question & how do I correct it?
On a group ride today I had strong outbound headwind (NW wind and rode NW for 20 miles) with a matching return tailwind. When I do Analyze Route to correct elevation for Start=End, it indicated about 5% Drafting. I did take turns drafting on the outbound headwind but I rode with no drafting for the...

Re: Trainer Tire Size
IF you know what the difference is in Crr between the 23 and the 25 you could go into edit trainer settings and click on the coefficients tab. There is a Crr setting there. However, I think the difference is so minimal that you should just leave things alone. Remember, there is no "Cancel"...

Re: Installing Aero Bars I need help
When on a typical ride on this bike do you generally ride in the aero position? I would assume yes, otherwise you wouldn't bolt the bars on to begin with. Put another way, what percentage of the time that matters (not climbing, not standing) are you using the bars vs. not using the bars? With that a...

Hmmm. Seems like I am pulling out my wallet a lot for the Newton. I have Garmin Vector on my race bike and Garmin hasn't charged me for any enhancements. $50 for GPS (hasn't yet worked for me - what a waste! The paradox is I use Garmin data), $100 for pedal stroke balance, $50 for user selected dat...

Re: Firmware 5.1
I've been using an iBike since the very first one and I've been fortunate to be a "beta" tester over the years. I wasn't very involved in the latest FW5 development and was inclined to leave my Newton alone with an older version. However being the glutton for punishment that I am, I did a ...

Re: Isaac feature request
Although a 60 minute best might be on either side of a coffee break, I doubt this kind of 60 minutes could ever match a steady state 60 minutes alone. The time spent getting back up to speed after a coffee break will seriously cut into the average.

Re: Newbie - How to end workout
There is no need to press any button. Newton stops recording when you stop. If you're concerned about accumulating time as you ride around or move the bike around then press and hold the center button and that will reset the ride stats to zero. Of course the ride you completed is still in memory. Th...

Re: Wind scaling
The short answer is it's applied to the unit. The longer answer is there are two "wind" names. Wind Scaling is the math needed to balance out a true out/back ride so the wind speed equals zero. This number is stored in the profile and is "usually" in the .9 to 1.5 range if the iB...

Re: Cool use for iBike in Go Pro Video with Garmin, Dashware
Thanks for the memories, when I lived in SoCal I rode that on a regular basis. The GoPro is so wide angle that it fails to show how tight those curves really are, especially toward the bottom. Of course you have to do the climb to earn that downhill reward. Nice Dashware overlay, I assume you import...

Understood, I went online and found the numbers you refer to. FWIW, .66 for more than four hours is no recovery ride. That's a hard ride that falls smack into endurance in my opinion. The iBike and Newton math is spot on so I guess things have changed since the first edition of Training and Racing.....
