Re: Newton still going strong!
It is true that the Newton's electronics will slowly discharge the battery when not in use. That is normal. I think your 12-13 hours of usage is also normal. It is a bit of a crap-shoot with a Newton that has not been used for years. I sometimes find Newtons that I haven't used for years, and when I...

Re: We've gone wireless!
Hey John, Thanks for your patience. I have alternated quitting Va and Isaac when I tried to connect, since you told me that before. When I do the Silicon Labs install, which I have done three times now, it shows me that it is installed correctly. Thanks for clarifying that the default comms path fo...

Re: PowerPod Storage
Tom is correct that you can use VA software to check power level.
My experience is that recharging every 3-4 weeks is sufficient. Batteries do degrade over time, but I'm still running my Newton, 9 years later, without problems (though it discharges a bit more rapidly).

Re: We've gone wireless!
I don't think your Silicon Labs drivers are properly installed. When installed correctly, you should see a green box around the USB icon, both in Isaac and VA, when you connect your Newton. Note that you cannot have both Isaac and VA running at the same time. The "choose device" image you ...

Re: We've gone wireless!
I deleted and successfully reinstalled the driver. I did a hard restart of my Newton. Then I tried to connect to both AV and Isaac. Isaac said it had connected to my Newton, but it wont recognize my device. AV just endlessly scanned for devices. Obviously, it is set for wireless, but I cannot see h...

Place the cursor in the stats field, then right click. You will be able to select "Advanced Stats". This should fix the problem.

Re: We've gone wireless!
Wireless is a great step forward for those who have a wireless device. However, my Newton obviously is not, and ever since accepting the upgraded Velocomp Aero software, my newton is no longer detected as connected by hardwire. I am using the same connecting wire that I have used for quite some tim...

Re: utility to bulk combine rides
We just released VA 1.0.28.
One of its features is that you can drag multiple files into the window; when you do so the "merge file" option will appear, allowing you to merge the many files into one big file.

Re: Velocomp Aero is replacing Isaac
Solved. The instruction to allow system extension to load is a bit unclear. There is an option to say OK or to go to mac system settings. Should clatify that the user MUST go to the allow extension to load at login setting BEFORE hitting OK. Once i did that — SUCCESS. New software looks good! Good ...

Hi:
Your ride looks very good; I tweaked your profile a bit to take advantage of all the laps you were doing.
Yes, you can trade your PP for an AP or PP Wireless!

Re: feature req. Disable or change timed powerdown
Hi, I think that this might be common to many riders. We take long rides and often take brakes, resulting on Aeropod powering down. The issue is with Isaac/Velocomp-Aero software now logs the ride as two rides. Combining the rides in the sftwr is cumbersome as this is needed for all of our rides. I...

Re: Time Advantage?
In Garmin Express/Connect one of the Charts is called Time Advantage. I think the data is part of the AeroPod 2.0 IQ app. This does not make any sense to me as the max range on the plot is 5 - MILLION. So something is not getting incorporated. Included is the extract from Garmin Connect for that pa...

I know we're talking about this in the other thread, but I wanted to mention that I observe that effect of turn-around on the analyzed CdA on the file I shared above too. Analyzed CdA of a group of laps that include test laps and intermittent turn-around laps (< 0.5 miles) is not equal to the avera...

Your AP is pointed down more than is recommended. I would get it eye-ball level, then lock it in to make sure it can't rotate.

Re: [Feature Request] Ctrl-click to Select Mulitple Laps
Hey John, can you confirm the latest version number? I'm on 1.0.25, but I do notice the turnaround lap discrepancy, as shown below. These screenshots are from a test from a couple weeks ago. Laps 6, 8, and 10 have individual analyzed CdAs of 0.291, 0.295, 0.291. But when I group them (along with tu...

Re: [Feature Request] Ctrl-click to Select Mulitple Laps
Well, I asked for this feature multiple times... nothing happened. I also noted and reported that even the short turnaround laps with an N/A CdA value do influence the final Analyzed CdA result, therefore a selection of consecutive laps is a bad solution. The short turnaround lap issue has been cor...

Re: Expected CdA Precision
I'm curious about the kind of precision other users are seeing in their CdA testing. The best I'm ...

Re: Requirement of Garmin for using Aeropod
I'm using my aeropod in profile 4 with a Garmin watch. It doesn't support the Aeropod 2.0 app, so I'm using the older one. But then I wonder if I even need the app installed? If I'm just interested in collecting data, is it enough if I just pair my watch with aeropod, start the ride on the watch an...

Re: CdA Variation in Initial Testing
The smoothing of the power data can be configured in the AP profile, if I remember correctly, by default it is dynamic. If it is set to 3s or 5s, then Garmin will receive the smoothed data, won't it? Good catch! Yes, power transmitted by AP to Garmin will be affected by smoothing setting in profile...

Re: CdA Variation in Initial Testing
Hi John, I did some more testing today, a new short 3-min loop, pretty much all flat. The CdA values look pretty consistent (in the attached file, my testing laps were 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, and 18), but I was checking the elevation tab, since you mentioned that being a source of error last time, and I ...
