Re: Newton Front Mount questions
I have them all boxed up and ready for return in brand spankin' new condition. I had already purchased one of the standard single armed Newton Front Mounts and I just mounted it on my new cyclo-cross bike and found that the iBike didn't seem to sit straight ahead. Is this normal? I tried loosening u...

Re: Newton Front Mount questions
John,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm still thinking about whether I want the new double armed super mount or the not so super Newton Front Mount. If I decide to go with the single armed Newton Front Mount would there be any problem exchanging what I've purchased?
Thanks,
Robert

Newton Front Mount questions
I've just purchased a few of these new front mounts (Newton Solo Front Mount). I actually thought that I was purchasing the Newton Front Mount and was surprised when they arrived. My current mounts are the old stem mounts and the original single armed out front mount (Newton Front Mount). My questio...

FW 5 and auto profile
I'm currently on FW version 5.02 and have seen this happen a few times. The Newton is set to Profile 1 The bike is the bike that = Profile 1 I turn on my Garmin and let it sync up I pedal the bike to get the speed / cadence sensor turned on and transmitting Turn on the iBike and wait a while for it ...

Re: Wind way out
One thing that I would add to this would be to go out and do an out and back ride (ride out and then ride exactly the same way back) and then use the Analyze / Check Calibration functionality in the Issac software. In calibrating the Newton to my newest bike I did an initial calibration ride (which ...

Re: Date wrong every ride
Not that it is a fix but you can change the ride file time and date before you upload. Tools / Repair / Fix Date & Time in Ride File Every time you do a hard reset you will need to set the correct date and time (an easy thing to forget - I have done it a few times and it always used to happen wi...

Re: iBike ride shows the wrong start time (1 hour earlier)
The ride file said it was the right time zone and the time on the iBike showed the correct time.
The computer is set to the right time zone and has the correct time (it's my computer and no one else uses it).
I have no idea what it was and it has not happened since. Must be those snow birds

Re: iBike ride shows the wrong start time (1 hour earlier)
The one sane thing about Arizona is that we do not have any DST.
Same time all year long.
So ... no ... there is no chance that I forgot to change the time

The time on my computer is correct (Internet time synchronization) and it is correct on the iBike.
I'm about to head out on a ride now ... we'll see what happens.

iBike ride shows the wrong start time (1 hour earlier)
I just posted my ride to Strava and saw that it said I started at 6:30am today when I really started at 7:30am. The ride file in the Isaac software says that the ride started @ 12/14/2013 6:44 AM and the data in the CSV file says 2013-12-14T13:30:36Z (the offset is -7 / MST / Arizona time zone - no ...

Re: Differing power numbers when uploaded to Garmin Connect
I like my Garmin a lot, but I don't trust the numbers that get uploaded (or interpreted) to Garmin Connect. On today's ride average wattage is 24w too high and maximum wattage is just shy of 200w too low. The iBike numbers, WKO+ numbers, and the Strava numbers all agree with each other. With that sa...

Re: Ibike watts show higher on bike
Whoa ... I just played with the "Analyze Route" a bit more and unchecked Drafting and unchecked Drafting and Ride Has Out & Back and then entered a Known Elevation with the start and the end the same and it went from the 160w back to the ~130w number. That's cool and all but I am a lit...

Re: Ibike watts show higher on bike
Fernando,
Do you always say NO to the drafting question?
Here is a ride from last Saturday where I did definitely draft and there is a significant difference in wattage if I analyze and say no to drafting.
132w vs. 160w
Penny for your thoughts
Thanks again ...

Fernando, Thanks very much for the detailed information!! I definitely don't remember the enter known elevation working that way. Re: Ibike watts show higher on bike
Interesting ... I went into the preferences in Isaac and saw that this setting was checked. I don't remember checking it (who knows?). Is this a default setting? After I saw this I looked in the documentation and saw this TIP: IF YOU OWN A NEWTON OR GEN III UNIT, LEAVE “AUTO FINE TUNE” UNCHECKED. YO...

Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
So here's another $10,000.00 question ... Is there a reason to upload the iBike file instead of the Garmin file to Strava? Re: iBike import to Strava not grouping with other riders
Fernando, You may be right about that but I believe that you're talking about using the SportTacks software. AFAIC there are at least two issues with that approach: 1. SportTracks is not free software 2. That is an additional step in the merge process. An additional step that I'd rather not have to ...

Re: Differing power numbers when uploaded to Garmin Connect
When I went to look in the Garmin Connect settings yesterday the FTP was defaulted to 400w. With that setting the IF should be way lower. I changed the FTP to 220 and that did not change anything. I totally agree that the numbers are way off and never questioned the iBike / Strava numbers. I just wa...

Fernando,
This seems like a good explanation of the 'lap 1 has invalid start time' error.
