Re: Waterproofing the iBike [SOLVED]
Just to put this issue to bed (since there may be new readers / potential buyers coming in here looking at the iBike and reeling in horror at the story about waterproofing) After some direct communication with John the CEO of velocomp .... he explained that the problem was with an older release of t...

Re: Some key features of the iBike Dash
Curious about this one ...
Just wondering, does the iBike Dash accumulate data in the exact same format on the iPhone as the Gen III unit ? If so, that would go straight into GoldenCheetah without issues.

Re: Waterproofing the iBike
* Bump * Hey guys, waiting for a response on my next course of action. (check your PM / emails ?) Sorry to be persistent, but I want to get this thing back on the road ASAP, and the local Australian distributor cant seem to help out. Looks like the speed sensor is a gonna now - 4 days drying out wra...

Re: Waterproofing the iBike
Thanks for the reply John, that is awesome service !! I purchased my unit from the Australian distributor on 13 Jul 2010. Ill PM you the details. Glad to hear that you identified that model of speed sensor as an issue, and replaced it in newer units. I was thinking of upgrading to full wireless soon...

Re: Waterproofing the iBike
Continuing on with the speed sensor on the fork now. I used the remains of the Pepsi bottle, which has a nice bulge in the side to accommodate the speed sensor. Close up of the splash cover over the speed sensor, from the front http://adofms.com.au/images/bike/aeroguard/ag9.jpg Front view again, ver...

Re: Waterproofing the iBike
OK then, the 'Aeroguard' for the head unit begins to take shape. The skies have gone nuts tonight, and its raining in buckets, so Ill give it a shot on the ride home. Here are some rather poor shots of the unpainted prototype. This one was made from a 600ml bottle of Pepsi(tm), rescued from the recy...

Re: Waterproofing the iBike
You hit the nail on the head there, honestly the unit is great and I can accept short-comings due to the price of the unit. But seriously the water issue is huge...Wait for it I can just see someone is going to say buy the RWS Sensor !! I've gone through around 40 batteries just this winter in Aust...

Waterproofing the iBike [SOLVED]
Hi All, I am new to the concept of training with power, as I recently got myself an iBike Pro Gen III with wired cadence and speed after my el-cheapo computer died (2 years of hard abuse was a bit much for the poor thing). Anyway, the iPro has been a lot of fun to use. The additional information has...

Re: ride analysis software
On GoldenCheetah ... I have got my copy of Golden Cheetah working with iBike wind data - the wind data is now stored in the ride file, and can be plotted next to wheel speed in the Ride Plot. Patch submitted - its currently in the git repository. Fair bit of work to do yet making it pretty, but its ...

Re: installing ibike for ubuntu linux
All sorted ... My iPro arrived today, and it all works out of the box with Linux (VirtualBox Closed Source edition + TinyXP). Awesome ! Considering the price they are selling these for in Australia now, I am a very happy camper with my purchase. The only really tricky part was getting USB emulation ...

Re: installing ibike for ubuntu linux
Thanks Greg Ive setup iBike under VirtualBox now, and it amazing how well that works (1st time use of VirtualBox). My actual iBike arrives later this week, so at least the software is all setup and ready to go. Stand by to have me pick your brains again if I cant sort out the USB interface ... shoul...

Re: ride analysis software
+1 for GoldenCheetah - brilliant !! Absolutely fast and snappy too - I have given up on trying to get SportTracks 'working' under mono or wine. GC is the bomb. There is a new patch out that includes 'aerolab', which I believe uses the Chung method to calc Crr and Cda. Interesting. Available as a bin...

Re: Computer Window Face Scratches
Check out ZAGG.com - They have films that can be applied to faces of many electronic devices - like the iBike, Garmin 705 and iPhone. Now this will not remove the scratches you already have, but it might cover them will enough to make them invisible and will protect the screen from future scratchin...

Re: installing ibike for ubuntu linux
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread ... but its worth raising from the dead after a 12 month break. Im getting my first iBike Pro next week, and I have no intention of using a Windows box just to get my data. Is there any progress to report on decoding the USB stream under linux to get access t...
