Re: Profile tweak
The term "deep-dish" was delivered tongue in cheek. As in "I ride in chicago so I ride deep dish rims"

Profile tweak
I have a good profile, a brand new set of wheels that I'd like to ride tomorrow, and the spot where I usually do my coast downs is unavailable (charity run/walk). I'll do the proper coast downs on Monday and apply them to the ride file, but would anyone care to suggest how I might tweak my current p...

Slope correction question.
So I've switched over to using my iBike instead of my PT, which is awesome. But I've also encountered a problem. When I was testing the iBike against the pt, I was mostly looking at post ride numbers in WKO+ -- these were accurate enough to get me to switch. Over the last few days I've been using th...

Re: Group ride
Excellent -- I was wondering if that was one of the Gen III upgrades.
As it turns out, I just went out and did coast downs wearing my other kit and made a profile. When applied to the ride this morning, the overall wattage variation drops to 8 watts. Low, but once again pretty amazing.

Re: Group ride
Oh I see -- you mean on-bike numbers (as opposed to corrected in iBike3). Well I made the corrections, so we'll see next time. In the meantime, I've tried bumping the aero number up a bit under the assumption that my kit change might have made the difference. While I can bump it up enough to match t...

Re: Group ride
Getting ready to play with the tilt changing, but you know I did change something this morning: I went from wearing my club kit (bib shorts, lycra jersey etc) to wearing my team kit (knickers and wool jersey) for the first time since using the ibike. Do you think that could have accounted for a 20 w...

Re: Group ride
Thanks Boyd. No, no rain actually on me last night, but it was sure wet this morning. I just checked to make sure I didn't have mud in the air intakes (nobody had fenders this morning). I did the exact pre-ride protcol that I'd been doing for the last few rides with the exception of doing a second t...

Group ride
I intended to almost call a conclusion to my PT/iBike comparison last night. After a couple hundred miles of ride in which they lined up very well, last night I finally got the first stereotypical Chicago lakefront ride. A storm was rolling in so the barometric pressure was haywire, the wind was hea...

Re: High interval values
Yeah, I have to say I have been really surprised as well. And I am using the first and only profile I made -- 4 coast downs and a 4 mile ride. I wondered if tilt might be it as well. I really like my modolo bars, but they're a bit flexy. The variance is so consistent that I could probably use this a...

High interval values
Hi all, I have a first gen iBike on loan from a friend, and I've been running it alongside my powertap for comparison. I've decided that if I find the results solid enough to train on, I'll probably switch -- I love the additional data the iBike provides and I'm kind of a wheel junkie so being tied ...

Re: question about windy conditions
Just to answer my own question, it turns out that this question has been answered in a past thread:

Unfortunately, this is really a deal breaker for me I think.

Re: question about windy conditions
If you are riding at 30 mph, and the wind is at your back at 15 mph, then there will only be 15 mph of wind going into the unit. No, I understand how things would work in that situation. My question is about the times when the wind is behind you AND it's going faster than you are. So if I'm suddenl...

Re: question about windy conditions
Thanks for sharing you experience using it under these kinds of conditions! I'm still somewhat confused about how it could account for a tailwind gust, though. If the wind sensor is on the front of the meter, and the wind is coming from behind (so it's blocked by your body), then a sudden large gust...

question about windy conditions
(still trying to make the decision on the iBike) I live and train in Chicago, and more than half of my miles are logged our path which runs along the lake. I don't really keep track of it, but I would say an average day during the summer is 10-15 mph wind with gusts of another 5mph. Days of 20mph wi...

Wired Trainer?
I'm considering a wired iBike, and I'd like to use it with my Kurt Kinetic trainer. If I buy the trainer upgrade, and splice a longer wire into the wired mount, this will work? Would this work with Gen II wired units as well?

Re: Gen III intervals timing question
That's great. I didn't know if the user-defined intervals was a feature that was being reserved (permanently) for the iAero. If this is something that is planned for the iPro, though, I can certainly tough it out and keep track of the intervals in my head in the meantime (especially since I've basic...

Gen III intervals timing question
Hello all, I'm considering buying my first iBike (pro), and I have a usage question that I can't seem to answer for myself by consulting the user-manual. I know that uploading interval sets to the iBike is something that is now reserved for the iAero, so I am wondering how one times interval sets ou...
