Re: I've got my M-15 and I'm off to the local college tower...
This may seem a strange response to this topic, but while I understand the frustration of the situation, and the eye-catching headline of the topic, I think that making allusions to violence in forum postings is both inappropriate and unnecessary. Anyone can get our immediate (and hopefully rapid) r...

Search your computer for files that begin with "iBike"; unless you've changed the default name you'll be able to find where your ride files are hiding.

Re: Erratic speeds
If you're getting crazy speeds most likely there is one of three problems: 1) your speed sensor is too close to the hub. Position your speed sensor (and magnet) close to the rim 2) your speed sensor is too close to the cadence sensor. Move the speed sensor and magnet as far away from the cadence sen...

When the wind port is jammed-up with rain that can be a problem. We'll see if Travis can do some software magic to deal with this problem.

If' you're talking about the "breaking" stat in the iBike 2 software, then remember that you have to analyze your ride before this number will appear.

Re: 3 questions - CADENCE, CLIMBING & CALORIES
Regarding calories: Fernando is right, the iBike is dead-on. It is impossible for software programs to calculate calories accurately; they don't know how hard the wind is blowing (and whether or not it's in your face or at your back), when you're coasting on downhills, when you're backing off a bit ...

Re: A ride with my iBike and PowerTap
Here's an image from the power meter comparison. The top graph shows power vs time; you can see that the two devices are virtually indistinguishable. The bottom graph is power differences which, again, are minimal.

A ride with my iBike and PowerTap
I have my trusty iBike Gen II on my bike as well as a variety of direct force power meters. Today, the DFPM was my PowerTap. Earlier this year I used one of the new features of iBike 2 to determine my drag coefficients with and out-and-back ride where the PT is used as the direct-force power referen...

Re: Riding in the rain
If you think you might be riding in the rain a simple precaution to take is to put tape around the iBike where it joins to the mount. This should keep water from leaking into the mount/iBike junction.

I am a life-long Mac user and I've been using my Mac with the iBike software since release 1.0.0 and with every release since then. No problems at any times. I don't, however, use my Mac with a VPN. Having answered hundreds of Windows tech support calls, I can tell you that they outnumber the Mac ca...

Re: How to add new wireless IDs to old profiles
Suppose you have a good profile stored in iBike 2 but you change the battery in your one of your sensors (for example, you change the battery in your speed sensor). Or, you decide to put a Garmin sensor on your bike instead of your iBike sensors. NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING GARMIN SENSORS WITH YOUR IBIKE...

Re: Hill Gradient Suddenly went "WONKY"
Most likely it was low battery voltage. We say in the owner's manual that tilt readings can go crazy with low battery voltage. Battery voltage should be above 275 before riding, and in cold weather batteries go only a few hours so I'd recommend a stronger battery if possible. Note that batteries wil...

Re: The Why's and How's of Wind Offset
The number will never settle to zero precisely. Think of a candle flame; even when the air appears to be exactly still the flame still moves around a bit. So, you'll see the number drift around a few tenths. That is fine. I try to click the center button as briefly as possible. Pressing on the butto...

Low angle is probably best, mostly because it is easier to read. In either case the iBike 2 software and calibration procedure will make the necessary corrections to the wind scaling factor.

Re: Battery Voltage not Correct
It has ALWAYS been the case that battery voltage drops rapidly from the "new" state of 3V. In tests we did last year battery voltage dropped from 300 to about 280 after 15 minutes, then held stable for many many hours thereafter (at spring/summer temperatures).
All is well...

Re: Hole on the Underside of iBike
As usual Travis is correct :-) This is a small hole through which the ambient air pressure is measured. The shape of the hole (or size) is not terribly important. It is covered on the other side to prevent moisture from entering. We have yet to have a single hole become blocked so don't worry if its...

WLS FAIL DURING RIDES
We've had a few cyclists report that they get unexpected WLS FAIL messages during their rides. When this happens the natural temptation is to start replacing batteries, do new pairings, etc. DON'T DO THIS!!! The problem is simple: most likely your sensors have gone to sleep because the bike has been...
