I'm not 100% certain but I believe that on windy days my Aeropod produces a flute-like musical tone. At first I thought it was the bike, but I only notice it when the Aeropod is mounted.
My guess is that the Pitot tube is functioning like an organ pipe?
Anybody else notice this?

Re: New AeroPod firmware 7.06
When you do a cal ride, 3 files are generated: 1) the "0-50" file, where WSF and accelerometer are calibrated 2) the "70-100" file, where default CdA is measured 3) the "after 100" ride file, where any subsequent riding is recorded. A minor quibble: As best I can tell ...

Re: Aeropod died?
If the AP battery should last 3 months then something really odd was going on. Maybe it wasn't the battery. At this late date I don't recall all the details. I do sometimes see a flashing LED when I first connect the AP to a USB power source but my impression is that the flashing doesn't go on for v...

Re: How's the CdA experimenting going with everyone?
You are probably correct in your assessment regarding the importance of measuring weight and Crr but I would still question whether you will get sufficiently precise measurements to compare results from one day with results from another. It's hard to measure tire pressure accurately, there are varia...

Re: Isaac/PowerHouse/Weight -- feature request
I completely agree that the Powerhouse app needs more functionality ... but I'm not sure it will help all that much with the wear and tear on the USB connector since it's a good idea to charge the Aeropod prior to each use

Re: Question about data transmission
Thanks. I assumed that the Garmin HR display was coming from the HRM ... What has me puzzled is this: Usually the Garmin connects to at most one data source for each type of datastream (HR, Power, Speed, Cadence) but if the Garmin gets HR data from the HRM and the Aeropod is transmitting CdA data as...

Question about data transmission
I've been puzzling over something related to how CdA is managed between the Aeropod and the ConnectIQ applet. If I am in Profile 4 and the Aeropod does not pair with my HRM then CdA data are stored in the HR channel in the Aeropod ... but CdA is also displayed by the ConnectIQ app on my Garmin. If m...

Does incomplete calibration ride cause problems?
I have considered a "workflow" to get around issues re: HRM pairing but I don't know if it would create other problems. Would it be acceptable to pair the bike sensors with the aeropod sometime prior to riding, at a time when no HRM is active, and then return later (potentially a lot later...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
Thanks. I do have to convert the FIT file to TCX but it helps to have the GPS data when I'm reviewing the CdA efforts so I can be sure I have marked the correct portion. The trick will be figuring out when the new time will be since the Garmin and the Aeropod won't start at exactly the same time if ...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
OK. I'll do a hard reboot. I considered doing that in the field when I noted the problem but that messes with the clock and my guess was that I wouldn't be able to correlate events in my FIT file with the IBR data if I did a hard reset. In retrospect not resetting was the wrong choice. Is there a wa...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
You are correct, it would have been more precise to say it had never been on anything but Profile 4 while in use ... but in any event that was AFTER the problem developed. I changed the profile in Isaac immediately after the reset. Is the hardware reset initiated by holding the button down for ~12 s...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
I may have chosen the terminology badly when I said I did a reset. In Isaac I did a device reset which erased all settings and recorded data. I'm not at that computer right now so I cannot tell you the exact label that Isaac used for the reset in the menu. The memory was about 35% full prior to the ...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
As I said previously: It was profile 4. It's the only profile that was ever set up or used though it did default to Profile 1 after I did the factory reset this evening. But shouldn't it have recorded SOMETHING even if I were to choose a different profile for a regular ride? I haven't done so ... bu...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
I understand that CdA is recorded only in Profile 4 ... but the Aeropod didn't record ANYTHING. There was no file of any kind to download even though the Garmin was displaying power data that seemed to be coming from the Aeropod. At least the Garmin said it was paired with the Aeropod and it was dis...

Re: Another failed effort to collect CdA information
I checked in Powerhouse before the ride and also checked afterwards. It was Profile 4.
But even if it had been a different profile ... if the Aeropod paired to the sensors shouldn't it have recorded data?

Another failed effort to collect CdA information
I tried again to obtain data for CdA on my Time Trial bike. This time I made sure it was fully charged. The first thing I noticed was thateven though I paired new sensors the calibration did not go smoothly. The power display rapidly ramped up from zero to over 100. I went back to the starting point...

Re: Aeropod died?
Having had no success after charging the Aeropod and re-connecting to my laptop I did what may have been a reset. I held the button down and after about 7 seconds a light flashed (orange? - not sure) then I hooked it up to the laptop again, ran Isaac and discovered that after finishing the calibrati...

Aeropod died?
Today I tried another CdA test as a detour on my ride to work. The calibration went OK and the Aeropod seemed to be performing OK though the CdA values I saw while in the drops were higher than the ones I saw on the hoods. After doing my CdA testing I rode on to work. When I wrapped up for the day a...

Maybe I missed it but ... which Win 10 machine worked for you? I'm running Win 10 Pro on Intel and I don't remember having to install the drivers when I set up this laptop but that was a couple of years ago so I'm not sure. At any rate no problems running Isaac, just using it. I wonder if Isaac is p...

Re: Power meter selection on headunit
Once the Aeropod is paired is there any reason the Garmin could not be switched back to pair directly with the P1s so the other data would be available in the FIT file?
I don't know what would do to the performance of the Connect IQ app.

Is there a way to turn the Aeropod off?
Some of my testing requires making changes to the bike that can require a bit of time. For example I have been doing some comparisons involving a wheel cover for the rear wheel. It takes me about 20 minutes to remove or install the wheel cover. During that time the Aeropod sometimes shuts itself dow...

I will attach the IBR and a screenshot showing the relevant laps in the file.
If the GPS data are really necessary can I PM them to you rather than posting?
The actual analysis was done on the the 4 separate files represented by the marked laps.

Two different CdA values
I think I may have obtained interpretable data from the Aeropod. Finally. Today I did a calibration ride and then 4 different tests on my TT bike. The 1st and 4th used the same setup as a measure of test-retest stability of the measurements. The out-and-back test run wasn't ideal (about 0.6 miles ou...

Re: Failure to record data
For the ride I posted NONE of the wireless IDs are correct. I don't know how the Aeropod acquired speed data unless it was transmitted back from the ConnectIQ app.
I'll re-do the calibration and try again.

Re: Failure to record data
Thanks for the clarification. For Profile 1-3 all of the Wireless ID tabs were identical. All IDs were 0, all of the sensor "buttons" were black (or is it dark green?) except the Pout Enabled button was a bright green. There was no sign of any wireless ID associated with the bike I was rid...
