Re: getting annoyed!
FOLLOW-UP: John, I just checked my emails and found that you emailed me on May 19 at 7:35PM requesting a replacement horseshoe and inquiring about the iBike G firmware. I responded to you on May 20 at 7:52AM, asking for your shipping address and informing you that the Garmin sensor would work with t...

Re: getting annoyed!
OUCH! We try to respond to emails as fast as we can but we're not perfect. To give you some idea of what we deal with: today I shut off my main computer at 8:15AM and turned it back on at 3:08PM. In that time period I received 78 emails. We will be glad to send you a replacement part. Please email m...

Re: Battery Voltage not Correct
It has ALWAYS been the case that battery voltage drops rapidly from the "new" state of 3V. In tests we did last year battery voltage dropped from 300 to about 280 after 15 minutes, then held stable for many many hours thereafter (at spring/summer temperatures).

Re: Hole on the Underside of iBike
As usual Travis is correct :-) This is a small hole through which the ambient air pressure is measured. The shape of the hole (or size) is not terribly important. It is covered on the other side to prevent moisture from entering. We have yet to have a single hole become blocked so don't worry if its...

WLS FAIL DURING RIDES
We've had a few cyclists report that they get unexpected WLS FAIL messages during their rides. When this happens the natural temptation is to start replacing batteries, do new pairings, etc. DON'T DO THIS!!! The problem is simple: most likely your sensors have gone to sleep because the bike has been...

Re: Cannot Pair with Garmin Strap
Marc: Your reply is helpful. The first time you paired your HR strap to your Garmin the HR strap sent its wireless ID to the 705. Any subsequent "rescan" simply awakens the 705 and instructs it to look for the previously determined ID. Since your iAero doesn't know the wireless ID of the s...

Re: Cannot Pair with Garmin Strap
Marc: Garmin makes their own combined speed/cadence sensor. As you know their combined speed/cadence sensor includes a "reset" button that eliminates the need for battery removal and reversal (the reset button initiates the internal change necessary to transmit the pairing code; for our se...

Re: Validation of Coast down and 4-mile ride data
Carsten: Your rides were amazingly close. You had less than a 1% difference between aero and frictional drag between the two rides. The primary difference was due to a difference in riding tilt, which is indicative of a possibly different weight distribution on your bike (i.e. how you sat on the bik...

Re: Compatible Trainers Update
My strong guess is that one of the 81 trainers we have listed would be close to yours. What I would do is use your iBike outdoors to get a perceived level of workout, then experiment with a few curves to pick one that is close to yours. The fact is that most trainers are pretty close to each other i...

Re: Cannot Pair with Garmin Strap
We are captive to the pairing protocols that have been created by the ANT+Sport manufacturer (Garmin subsidiary Dynastream). I fully agree that the pairing procedure could be much more user-friendly, but creating that better procedure is something that Dynastream must do. Garmin has much more influe...

Re: SRM with iBike Aero
We'll have SRM/iAero firmware next week.
As Fernando points out, the reason to use the iAero is both so you can see your SRM data (!) and because the iAero works in tandem with the SRM to provide aerodynamic and power information.

Make sure your speed and cadence sensors haven't gone to sleep. Wave a magnet past them to keep them awake. If they go to sleep during the pairing process you will get the WLS FAIL message during the HR pairing though everything else is OK.

Travis is a PC, I am a Mac (music in the background please). The two versions of iBike 2 are developed with the identical development system. Re: Crazy Power Reading
I looked at your ride file and the primary issue is the unstable reading you're getting from your cadence sensor. Remember that when cadence goes to zero (as it does far too many times in your ride file) then watts will be forced to zero too. I suspect that your cadence magnet and sensor are too far...

Re: iAero and iBike Pro profiles
Here's what you'll need to do to accomplish your objective: 1) Store your iBike Pro Profile using iBike 2. This saves your wireless IDs and your iBike Pro drag coefficients as a profile. 2) When you obtain your iAero, upload your iBike Pro profile into your iAero. Among other things, this will trans...

Re: Starting a ride from remote locations
It's fine if you set altitude at home, then go to your starting location to ride. Remember that if the weather changes while en-route to your starting point the elevation your iBike reads at your actual starting location may be different from what the actual elevation is, but that's ok, too. After y...

1) If you lose your wireless pairing AND you have previously saved a profile that included the pairing codes, simply upload your profile to your iBike and your pairing should be restored. 2) If step one fails, then you have one of two problems: 1) your old profile doesn't have the correct codes stor...
