Re: Failure to record data
I grabbed several screen shots. I'm not sure why the Set Active Profile dialog says Profile 4 is "Unsaved" but if I am interpreting the screen correctly it confirms that I have not set up Profiles 1-3. In any event at the beginning of the ride in question I confirmed with Powerhouse that t...

Re: Failure to record data
It's profile 4. I don't think I've ever used any other profile on the Aeropod. I can confirm that this evening but I don't recall setting up any other profile.

Re: Failure to record data
Thanks for following up on this. I can check on the information you requested when I return home but I am curious: If the option to extract the profile from the ride file does not report the information that was in the profile during the ride then what DOES it do?

I guess since the file doesn't have any GPS data it's OK to post.

Failure to record data
I was playing around with a couple of pieces of equipment today and decided to make a quick comparison between the estimated CdA for one and the estimated CdA for the other. I didn't do the full testing protocol because (1) this was not intended to be a careful measurement that would be comparable w...

Re: TT bike mounting
How much room is there between the extensions and the stem? Alternatively how much room is there on the round section of the base bar on the outside of the extension? I don't have calipers to get an exact measurement but all of the mounts I checked are about 3/8" (~9.5 mm) wide. What I ended up...

Re: Checking calibration
I guess that's something else for the "wish list". I have a fair number of routes that contain portions suitable for a calibration check but not many entire routes that would work well. I can always dissect the ride file and retrieve the relevant portions but looking at the "current s...

Checking calibration
I discovered something that leaves me uncertain what to think about the "check calibration" option in Isaac. I rode some laps at a local track. I'm told that they were probably not optimum for either calibration or CdA but while fiddling with the data I discovered something unexpected. I a...

Re: Fork Mounting For TT Bike
Assuming that the mount is sufficiently rigid, wouldn't that location create problems with wind speed measurement since it is so close to the spokes? I don't know how wide the "wake" of the rim and spokes is when riding at speed. I would also be curious if the readings would be thrown off ...

1) Yes, I was aware of this. But even at home, I tend to get dressed before setting up my bike. 2) This is only a last resort. Possible, but totally inconvenient. I think you should reconsider this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the number of people without a separate bike computer (who depend on re...

Suggestions/requests to improve user friendliness
I run across a couple of situations in which Isaac's behavior strikes me as not terribly user friendly. I wonder if they could be on the "wish list" for future updates? Sometimes I do not use Tracker when I ride. When those rides are transferred from my Newton or Aeropod Isaac does some so...

Re: Aeropod v2
Thanks for the feedback. I think the low average speed reflects the fact that I was trying to ramp the speed up. For CdA testing is it better to have a constant speed? When I planned the tests I assumed (possibly incorrectly) that, as is the case for linear regression, a wide spread of input values ...

Re: Unexpectedly low "wasted motion"
Thanks. I guess I'll have to figure out other ways to see how much shifting around the bike does when I sprint. I'm still learning technique so right now I'm not generating enough power OR a high enough cadence but i'm told the goal would be closer to 40+ pedal strokes in that 15 second sprint

Re: Aeropod v2
1) Are you reporting that AeroPod ride files do not record cadence data from your C1? That would be very odd; the cadence data is included in the C1 power field. If you're "receiving" DFPM power you should be receiving cadence. That is what appears to have happened. There are other proble...

Unexpectedly low "wasted motion"
On today's ride I did a couple of short hard sprints out of the saddle. I've been trying to improve my sprint technique, learning to tilt the bike left when I push down with the right pedal, ... Coaches tell me that this technique is definitely faster than having a nice smooth balanced pedal stroke ...

2) I have done pairings many, many times in the field with AeroPod. It has never failed. ... 4) AeroPod provides visual feedback when it pairs to a crank-arm cadence sensor, DFPM, and speed sensor. If you're 100 feet away from any other bikes, it's easy to confirm without ambiguity that AP has pair...

Re: Aeropod v2
WHAT IF SOMETHING IS WRONG? AeroPod is one of 5 power-related components on your bike: the speed sensor, cadence sensor, direct force power meter, and bike computer are the others (if you have a HR strap that would add, too). All of these components must be set up and operating properly for AeroPod...

Re: Aeropod v2
Most of the light interface involves one-time sensor pairing and one-time calibration. After that, the only thing you need to see is solid green when you first turn-on the unit. All of that said, we ARE working with Everysight Raptor to add more user feedback through their glasses. It will be great...

Ouch, cut us a little slack... :-) The Newton includes our power measurement technology AND our built-in display. That means that we can design the Newton user interface (display) to show messages. Also, Newton has a 5 button control, which adds flexibility. Unfortunately, in the world of Garmin do...

Re: Powerhouse app crashes
The only sensor you will see in the app is the power sensor. Speed sensor will not be shown. The app does not scan for the speed sensor, so it won't tell you if the speed sensor paired. Unfortunately that means that there is no way of determining which sensors paired successfully with the Aeropod u...

Powerhouse app crashes
I'm new to Powerhouse since I started using Aeropod. My old Newton doesn't have BLE so the app was not relevant. I'm running Powerhouse 2.0.2 on iOS 11.4.1 I've noticed a couple of things when try to use Powerhouse. The Powerhouse app seems to connect OK to my Aeropod but when I check for sensors th...

#2 - Create an app to guide through the various pairing/calibration processes. It's easy to follow along with button processes and light sequences when sitting on our couch or in our garage, but when you're out in the field and kitted up, it's not as easy to remember all the procedures for pairing ...

Re: Comprehensive Instructions for AeroPod
As an alternative, open the ride file in Isaac, then use the "Tools/CdA analysis..." feature to determine CdA. This feature works with the raw data in the ride file, not the HR data. Thanks. That's a viable option for now ... but long term I'd MUCH rather do all of my analysis in WKO4 ......

Re: Comprehensive Instructions for AeroPod
4) Golden Cheetah is an open-source application. I am sure some enterprising programmer can take AeroPod HR data, multiply it by 4, then divide by 1000, to get CdA. That means the CdA data in the HR field is rounded to the nearest 0.004. Is that the limit of the precision of the estimate? Or is the...

Wind sensor calibration
I have ridden with my new Aeropod a couple of times, first a calibration ride and then the next day a regular ride. I didn't detach the Aeropod between rides so the position was exactly the same for both. I noted early on during the second ride some very inaccurate wind speed results. I stopped and ...
