Re: Gen III and Riding Tilt
You need to do an initial tilt calibration and Cal Ride when you first set up your Gen III iBike. Once these initial calibrations are done your iBike will, in fact, self-correct tilt on each subsequent ride. For those of you who do only 5 minute long training rides you should check tilt before each ...

Re: How to switch ride data (post ride) to trainer
At present there is no way to switch the trainer profile and power curve after an indoor trainer ride.
If you're getting strange behavior try removing the battery, inserting it backwards to cause the iBike to do a hard reset, then reinsert the battery normally.

Re: Setting Elevation
It makes no difference what starting elevation is set in the iBike. The change in elevation from point to point is what is important and the iBike will measure that number with high accuracy.

Re: How does drafting affect power readings?
Here is the tilt curve for the ride. Remember that we're all used to seeing elevation changes in the hundreds of feet; the vertical scale has a divisions of 10 feet and the horizontal scale is in miles.. Average pre-analysis tilt for the ride was 0.01%

If this happens you can try two things: 1) Click the "Fit Plots" button. That may fix it; 2) click the "Show" button, then select the item you want to fix, then click "Small" or "Large", then accept. This will redraw the graphs properly.

I'm not aware of any GPS download capability from the iPhone. You'd have to have that information, along with clock information, in order to sync with the iBike.

Re: Loss of Power reading
If you have a cadence sensor it's likely that your cadence reading went to zero; this forces watts to zero. Check the position of your sensor and make sure your magnet is sweeping close to the sensor.

It is a mistake on our part. To keep things efficient we try to share code in our firmware. The 118 code should NOT have CdA screens in it.

Measure how long it takes for the WLS FAIL message to appear. If it's around ten seconds your mount is not working properly. If so email me at jhamann@velocomp.com and we will replace your mount.

Search your computer for files that begin with "iBike"; unless you've changed the default name you'll be able to find where your ride files are hiding.

Re: Erratic speeds
If you're getting crazy speeds most likely there is one of three problems: 1) your speed sensor is too close to the hub. Position your speed sensor (and magnet) close to the rim 2) your speed sensor is too close to the cadence sensor. Move the speed sensor and magnet as far away from the cadence sen...

Re: 3 questions - CADENCE, CLIMBING & CALORIES
Regarding calories: Fernando is right, the iBike is dead-on. It is impossible for software programs to calculate calories accurately; they don't know how hard the wind is blowing (and whether or not it's in your face or at your back), when you're coasting on downhills, when you're backing off a bit ...

Re: A ride with my iBike and PowerTap
Here's an image from the power meter comparison. The top graph shows power vs time; you can see that the two devices are virtually indistinguishable. The bottom graph is power differences which, again, are minimal.
