Help - No speed data

Post by ChrisStorey »

I have had an iBike for abut 6 months and it has been working fine. It is a fully wired pro gen III without cadence. I updated the firmware to version4.00 and went for a ride and it worked OK.

Next ride there was no speed data; as well as no speed data the speed area on the display keep alternating with gradient data changing about every second. Everything else looks like it works. All the setup screens work, date, temperature, wheel size, profiles look OK and it will connect to the computer. I thought the problem was with the speed sensor and not the iBike itself but this is OK. I can hear the switch opening and closing as the magnet passes the sensor.

I have tried a new battery and have tried a hard reset but it makes no difference.

Any ideas before I send the unit back?

Hi Chris,

I had no speed/cadence happen to me last week. I noticed it a few meters up the road so stopped. I fixed it by stopping the bike taking the ibike off the mount, spinning the wheel and crank to make sure the sensors were activated and then put the ibike back on. For me this worked.

The display changed from speed to gradient if you have held the bottom arrow down for two seconds, I think that is the button, can someone confirm? You can change this back easily.

Yes, holding the down arrow for two seconds enables/disables auto-hill. This alternates the display to show the gradient you are climbing.
