I can display my current heart rate nicely on a 2 hour ride, but it will not record or show up in the file once it is uploaded. The heart rate data also goes to my Garmin and it records it wonderfully.
What's wrong?

You are using FW 403 in your iBike. It may be that your iBike was "confused" by the HR pairing process used by this much older firmware.
Also, you are using iBike 3.0.6, a much older version of software.
Download and install iBike 4.0.2. You will find it at the downloads page of our website.
Then, launch iBike 4.0.2 and go to Help/Check Online for FW updates...
Your software will find and then prompt you to install FW 4.18, our latest. FW 418 includes numerous pairing improvement and should fix the HR recording problem you saw in this particular ride file.

Re: heart rate data won't record...but it's there
John,
I have updated to the latest iBike software and it seemed to all load well. I am pleased. Much easier than before.
I have recently been experiencing trouble with the iBike creating two files in one ride and hopefully this update will fix that.
I really have had no luck with wattage as it relates to wind. I am using the iBike for other comparisons like cadence and speed. Since wattage IS the point of the whole affair...I own it to myself to try the RWS.
I am not a great fan of the untidy tube installation style. Is there an alternative to that with perhaps a horizontal straw? I have attempted to fashion other devices on to sense air from ahead of the bike to no avail. Before I get you to send me a RWS...is there anything in the works like a remote wireless sensor for perhaps the front forks or a pitot tube forward of the device?
Roger

Two files from one ride is an indicator that your battery is low. iBikes close files and start new ones in this particular situation.
Suggest you pop a new battery in!

Re: heart rate data won't record...but it's there
I've gone through 6 batteries in the last six months. In any event, the unit worked well today and did not split files.
Each time the batt test passes.
I keep the unit outside so the sensors are acclimatized.
I need to fashion some way of mounting the unit well ahead and to one side of the pressure bubble of the rider to enable clear indicated airspeed...otherwise wattage is egregiously erroneous. I hope to fashion something that will extend either from my aero bars or the handle bar itself to serve as an iBike mount. I will have to build up the mount to the stem 'outside diameter' to make the wireless unit fit snuggly.
Has anyone ever tried fashioning a mount for the front axle? While it may not be the clearest air, it could provide for a readable distance with consistent air data. Just a thought.

The iBike has a remote wind attachment available for purchase. It is pretty much a tygon tube that attaches to the wind port on the iBike and the open end can be mounted away from the aero bars.
