Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
Hello Velocomp,
I dusted off my b/u Gen 3 iBike as I am packing my Newton+ to ship to Tom Gore for service.
Yesterday I took it for a ride and ran the check calibration function to correct the wind scaling, which was the only change
When I clicked send to iBike, it popped up an error:
Following parameters are out of range:
Bike + Equipment weight = -32763 lbs (allowed range 0-800 lbs)
Because of this it refused to send the corrected profile. I double checked and the two weights are quite correct.
Funny but the unit is set for metric, btw.
Thanks,
Russ

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
OK, I fired up an old laptop that has xp and 2.5 Isaac on it and fixed my profile in the Gen 3.
Now after today's ride..... Guess what?
The exact same pop up complaint appeared at the end of uploading my ride. Except it did receive the ride into Isaac and after complaining that the weight was outside of the 1-800lb range, it displayed the correct 99kg total weight in the stat box.
I think Isaac 3 has a problem with Gen 3....
Thanks in advance,
Russ

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
I've been getting the same error, but haven't worried about it given it hasn't been a problem using it in trainer mode all winter. Now that Spring is here, I would like to use my iBike outside. Is there any resolution to this issue?

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
OK, so here is what I did.
I loaded the file into Isaac. I extracted the profile in Edit Profiles.
The profile looked normal, so I attempted to send it to my Newton. I got the same error message.
Since the profile looked normal, I copied it. I then manually changed the bike weight and rider weight to a different number, then saved the profile.
I then reset the bike weight and rider weight back to the original number, then saved the profile.
I sent this profile to the Newton and it worked.
So, it appears that there was an internal glitch in the profile that could be fixed with this workaround.
The corrected profile is attached. Import it into Isaac then send it to your Newton. All should be well.

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
Thank you. I sent the profile without error. I'll try it out on the bike as soon as I can (down sick right now). I'll report back if I still get errors. No news will be good news.

John,
I have recently seen the same problem with my GenIII, every time I try to download my ride files (please see attached). I am not sure I understand the workaround you explained above (copied below). Could you please elaborate! Thanks. FG

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
The profile stored in your Newton and in Isaac software is incorrect.
The procedure I described in this thread corrects the problem:
1) Open a ride file that causes the error message you are receiving
2) Go to "Edit/Edit Profiles/Extract from Ride File". This will load the bad profile into Isaac
3) On the "Basic" tab, increase you rider weight by 1 pound (say, from 195 to 196) and also your bike+other weight (say, from 24 pounds to 25 pounds).
6) Connect your Newton to Isaac. Click the "Send to Device" button to confirm that your profile has been corrected.
7) Return the weights to their correct values (195/24), and click Send to Device. You now have a correct profile loaded into your Newton.
8) Click the "Accept" button to save the corrected profile.

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
Thanks John. I tried what you suggested but it still gives me the same error.
I also noticed a somewhat related issue when I tried to reduce the sample rate from 1sec to 5sec, I noticed 2 things:
1 - I get the same out of range parameter error (please see image) when set the sample rate to 5sec and ask it to send to ibike.
2 - Even though I send the new sample rate to ibike (e.g. 5sec). when I ask it to "get from ibike" it again tells me the sample rate is 1sec. As if it did not send the new sample rate to the ibike. I suppose, I do not know what the sample rate setting really is in the ibike!
Thanks again.

Post a ride file and I will see if I can help.

Re: Isaac can't send corrected profile to Gen 3
Try this. It worked on my unit.
By the way: you have a default wind scaling value of 1.000 in your unit. I suggest you do a calibration ride.
