editing ride data within iBike2 software

Is there a way to edit out power spikes after or before analyzing ride data? Even after analysis, I still had a power spike to 800 watts.

You can open up the file in Excel and edit the raw data - not sure if this is advisable though.

Would be really cool if you could (via bike software) just pick several points that you can drag up or down.

..or how about being able to enter a personal 'max power threshold' in the user settings so that when the ride is analysed the software can use this to look for any spikes and then give you the option to have them replaced - the trick is what to replace them with - I'll leave that to the guys with bigger brains than me

As simple as what you are asking for sounds, it's not that straightforward. If you drag your power to where you think it should be, in most cases iBike 2 would undo your work and put the power back to where it was if you do another auto-analyze (or analyze tilt & power).

If you could, send me your ride file so I can look at the blemish you want to edit. I want to see what is going on to cause the problem--maybe I can get the analysis to find and correct it automatically.

Ride files are usually spot on but I am wary about the trainer watts which in my case seem to track a bit high. I'm not too concerned about being extremely accurate on the trainer but I'd rather err on the low side there.

Anyway to set up the ibike on the trainer so we can "adjust" the results. I'm thinking just tightening the resistance to the wheel may do it but no idea on what else to do.

Ah, that's different. My todo list has the fix you need for trainer mode. Of course it doesn't do you any good until I have time to implement it. I'm simply swamped.

In the mean time, you can add to your resistance by lowering your tire pressure.

I got a some ride files that have spikes in the power I'd like to correct, often just a few values. What's best way to determine a value you should use to replace the incorrect data? In the attached file starting at km 13 I get some really over the top values for power. Any suggestions would be much appriciated.

I think the problem is the spike in speed. If you open the file in Excel you can see the speed become erratic at 13.3327km. If you correct those speed numbers to about what they were, then save and open the file in iB2. Click Auto Analyze and the correction should be made. Experiment on a copy of the file for sure.

That did the trick. I'll have to remember to check the speed values when downloading from my iBike.

You should try and figure out why the speed spikes. The most common reason is that the magnet is in a unique position that makes it register twice. You might want to move it slightly. There is also the possibility that another magnet or sensor is too close to the speed magnet and you are getting a double hit although very sporadically.
