Check out ZAGG.com -
They have films that can be applied to faces of many electronic devices - like the iBike, Garmin 705 and iPhone.
Now this will not remove the scratches you already have, but it might cover them will enough to make them invisible and will protect the screen from future scratching.

You can use Liquid Turtle Wax to remove fine scratches from plastic. It works pretty well. Of course that begs the question, What are you wiping the surface with to cause the scratches to begin with?

The screen was accidently scratched by a cemet statue while I was transporting my bike in the back of my vehicle with a car load of stuff.. ugh !! The lesson to be learned is take off your computer while transporting your bike..

Since Velocomp has the best and friendliest customer service in the world, I suggest you contact them as to the price of getting a replacement screen installed on your unit. they might just be able to do it.

Do you know if the invisible shield for the iBike manages to cover the whole face of the device, or just the screen part ? I was thinking that if it covered the entire face, that would surely add to the waterproofing of the unit - which cant be a bad thing.

Sorry but the film is designed for the clear face only.
A little prep (clean the screen as directed) is all that is needed - wait 24 hours and you are god to go. I would even suspect that the film will cover up some minor scratches when you put it on.

Actually, if you want to save some $s, you could get any old screen protector for camera/GPS/phone etc from any source such as eBay for a few dollars. I haven't seen the Zagg ones but at $14.99 each, I would suggest that you could get it cheaper elsewhere. There is a dealer on eBay that sells ipod/iphone screen protectors (much larger in size than ibike obviously) for around $10. The material is really good and tough and is purportedly used by the US military on the chopper blades for protection!
I think I got a 2.5 in or 3 in film, then carefully measured and cut the film to size to stick it onto my iBike Aero.
You could get some tracing paper (or light paper) , put it onto the screen of the iBike, trace it carefully and lightly with a sharp pencil around the area between the screen and the black casing. Once done, you can then use this tracing paper as a "template" to cut the film to size and shape.
Carefully clean the surface of your iBike. Cleaning with soap alone is not enough to remove debris and oil (fingerprint residue). A light coating of methylated spirit dabbed onto a soft lint free cloth works best.
You can then apply the cut film onto the screen making sure you don't add any fingerprints onto the sticky side. Use a credit card to smooth out any air bubbles and you're good to go. Don't worry about very small bubbles as depending on the type you get, these usually dissipates over the next day or so.
Unfortunately as there is still a gap between the screen and the black part of the casing, using a film does not "waterproof" the unit.
Also, don't try to "cut" the film large enough to "overlap" the screen onto the casing as if you do this, over time the sticky underside will collect debris and will start to peel off eventually which means that you will have to replace the screen protector.
Hope this helps you and others reading this. I have added protectors to most devices successfully, GPS units, bike computers, iBike, iPods, digital camera screens etc etc
