Proper Stem Mount Angle

Post by Brodirt »

I finally got around to taking a picture of my bike with the ibike on it and noticed (even more than in person) that the angle of my stem mount is pretty radical. Check out the pic and tell me if that is too far off...the riding slope doesnt seem to be out of whack.

That should be ok. You'll end up with a larger wind scaling factor since the front wind port is pointing down, but that should be ok. Just be sure to redo your calibration rides if you change your mount.

Based on the picture it seems like a regular low-angle stem mount would be more appropriate for your stem angle. As I understand a slight up-angle (no more than 10-12 degrees is fine for the low-angle, plus you'll be able to see the screen better.
