Fitness test
Fitness test
I wonder why the power number starts out at say 290 on the originall download and then resets to say 180 when I come back to the file later. I also wonder as to other rides, why I often get a query as to whether the ride started and ended in the same place. If I say no, the power figure dramatically reduces.

Here is a file.

Re: Fitness test
I posted a file above and if you need more info, please compare that one to this one where the numbers remained as original download:

Re: Fitness test
I am hoping someone at Velocomp can take a look at the two files I posted re my initial question. Thank you!
Re: Fitness test
Sorry, I missed your earlier posting.
Your ride is a "flamer"; that is, your wind speed looks like continuous blue flames above your white bike speed. When I see this, it suggests strongly that your Newton calibration somehow went wrong. When wind speed is always higher than bike speed, then watts will be too high.
Wind speed generally is about the same as bike speed, especially when there is an out-and-back ride. The reason the software is knocking down your power so much is because it is fixing your wind speed to make it about the same as your bike speed.
You can use the Analyze/Check Calibration to see if things are out of whack.
I have attached a profile that fixes the wind speed issue. Load this into your Newton and all should be well.

Re: Fitness test
Thank you for the good explanation. However, when I saved the attachment (Fixed Profile IBP) to Isaac for Mac, I get a blocking message that said the file format was not recognized.??
Re: Fitness test
Make sure you've updated to the latest version of Isaac, which should fix this problem.Rick wrote:Thank you for the good explanation. However, when I saved the attachment (Fixed Profile IBP) to Isaac for Mac, I get a blocking message that said the file format was not recognized.??

Re: Fitness test
Yup, I've got 1.0.2 , tried again and still get "file format not recognized."
Re: Fitness test
Hate to be a pest, but am waiting for Travis to take a look. I did another calibration ride and had the same result re a "flamer" ride with ananlyzed wind knocking the power way down. right now, I am totally confused as to what to do. I thought a wind cal was not even necessary. I am also being told by the software that I need a new tilt though the last one I did quite awhile ago said "good tilt."
