Heart Rate Data
It would appear that I was picking up another rider's heart rate monitor in a race, as the numbers were around double what I would have expected for around 10 minutes. Is the heart rate monitor coded in way, like the Polar, to stop this happening?
Re: Heart Rate Data
That's not possible. Once paired the computer will only pickup your HR belt. The reason for the double high values is a well known problem with the Garmin ANT heart rate belt (Polars are affect by this also, though not as often in my experience). The problem is the contacts are not moist enough at the start of the ride, and if it's cold outside it's even worse because it takes longer for you to start sweating. Certain jersey fabrics also make this problem worse as they create an EM interference. I always use contact gel now for cycling to help avoid this problem.

That makes sense, as it was the first ten minutes of the ride. I'll get myself some gel from the chemist.
