Display Interval and Cadence

Post by Zecutive »

I there any way to display cadence while using the interval feature on the iBike computer?

If not that would be a great feature to add.

The training plan I use specifies intervals using three vabiables: power, cadence and duration.

I wish I was good enough to estimate cadence accuratly but alas I am not.

Good point - noted and put on the list for future additions.

Speaking of future additions, how about alternating distance/elapsed time (alternating like speed/slope does) on the power screen. This could be to the left of cad/hr. I know that the space is limited so maybe just running minutes and whole miles here? It would be great for TT's where you want to monitor wattage but still have an idea where you are time and distance wise.

I know that requests to display data in currently unavailable configurations comes up quite frequently on this Board, and it's impossible to accommodate all of the requests. Speaking for the touring iBikers (I don't do races, per se), however, we frequently need to follow a cue sheet with turn-by-turn directions based on miles traveled. Currently, it's not possible to see trip miles while monitoring current power--the basic power screen shows speed, power, and calories. It would be a useful future enhancement to have a screen with, say, speed, power, and trip miles. Personally, although I love having a calorie count available, it's not as useful on an ongoing basis as mileage would be. Since calories are available for spot checks through the Totals screens, I'd be better assured of not missing a turn if I could monitor mileage more closely.

Thanks for the consideration...

Given all the different kinds of view requests I've seen since the iBike was first introduced, it's probably safe to say that the best solution would be to make the displays completely user configurable. Unfortunately, I suspect that kind of solution would probably make the device cost a lot more than it does now. Personally, I'm still wishing for the time when intervals can be individually saved, not just configured, along with an entire ride file. Now that would be a trick. But hey, I'm a patient guy. I know its bound to happen.
