My Gen III temperature always reads high. Most of the time it is about 10 degress (F) high. If it is really cloudy, it still reads about 5 degrees high. However, when it is just sitting in the house it is pretty accurate.
Is there a fix?

Temperature always reads high
Re: Temperature always reads high
Ride more in the shade.
I'm joking of course. The temperature gauge in the iBike is very accurate, but just like any thermometer left in the sunlight, it will cause the temperature readings to read high. There is no way to adjust for this since the outside variable can differ by so much.
But while it may not show actual air temperature, the iBike will show you the feel of the temperature for you. Example, if it's a sunny day and it's 90 degrees it's going to feel a lot hotter than a 95 degree cloudy day. The iBike can show that.

Re: Temperature always reads high
I went ahead and changed the temperature by going to "Edit", Preferences" then 'Ride Data" and adjusted the temperature down by 7 degrees. I'm going to try that to see if it more accurately reflects the outside temperature. Is there a downside to doing this?

Is there an upside? I don't think the temperature effects any of the other readings.Ferg wrote:Is there a downside to doing this?
Re: Temperature always reads high
changing the temperature in the software afterwards has no effect on power readings.

What color is your Gen 3? Black units do read higher temperatures....
