I've got my iBike mounted in the 'aero' configuration (below & between my aero bars), so haven't been able to use a VRK. How does the new Gen II device compare to the VRK in terms of overall effect on power readings?
Is the effect of the VRK and/or Gen II something that I would see while riding? (ie, would it stabilize the realtime-ish reporting of my power output that I see on the iBike, or would it mainly affect what I see in the iBike software after I ride?)
What is the diameter of a VRK, btw? Would it fit and could it be used effectively inside something the diameter of a handlebar, or does it need something the size of a stem? (I'm contemplating that I could potentially insert it inside the tube that I have the iBike mounted to underneath the aerobars.) Does the VRK have to be positioned length-wise with respect to the bike (as it would be in a stem), or can it be positioned cross-wise to the bike, as long as its directly beneath the iBike mount?
Thanks for any help/info!
Gen II vs VRK?
Re: Gen II vs VRK?
Definitely the Gen II over the VRK. The VRK is a workaround to the problem, the Gen II is the fix.
Both are more important to on-bike power reporting, though the downloaded data will improve as well.

Re: Gen II vs VRK?
Any official word from the iBike folks about how long the Gen II upgrade program will be going on? I'm experimenting with changing my mounting setup a bit, and would like to know if that improves things noticeably before I drop money on a Gen II upgrade, but don't want to miss out on that upgrade if its a limited time offer.
Thanks!
