Quick Question re Power Button

Post by powertothepeople »

I did a ride recently and didn't keep track of the time of one rest stop, and as soon as we resumed the ride, no power numbers were being displayed so I assumed the PP had powered down. It did, so I had to pull over and turn on the PP -(the location of the power button is kind of hard to access when moving). For now, it seems, that the only way to check if the PP is still on is to start the ride and see the power numbers register or not. If they do, then all good, If not, then the stop is necessary.
So just to make sure that the PP is on when the ride resumes, does pressing the power button even if the PP hasn't powered down okay?
Thanks :D

Yes, if you stop riding, after a break press the PP button to turn the unit back on.

Thanks for all the help.
Another question, though. Rode yesterday (after a week off), battery fully charged, PP was not moved from its mount. Pressed power button, solid green. Set off - no power readings, pressed power button several times (discovered that I if moved my Edge 500 further forward on its mount, the PP's power button and LED are accessible and visible even when moving), but still no readings. Was about to do the master reset thingy when power numbers registered. Checked my ride time when the power numbers started - it was about 7.5 minutes from the ride start. After that, the whole ride was okay, PP-wise.
Was the 7.5 minutes at the start a pairing / calibration by the PP?

Yes, that was the device recalibrating itself for the first 8 minutes.
