Wind Readings Confusing

Post by the shovel »

I have my PowerPod mounted in front of my handlebar on a K-Edge Garmin XL mount. The wind port is clear of all obstructions since the PowerPod juts our in front of everything except the front wheel.

My first ride with this new configuration was broken into two halves - out and back - because I had to wait 30 minutes to pick up something at the "out" end of my ride and ended up restarting the PowerPod before beginning the "back" trip to be sure my ride was recorded.

The wind speed relative to the bike showed a head-wind over more than 90% of the ride, both out and back. The local weather showed that the wind direction didn't shift during the ride, and I wasn't drafting anyone.

Is this something that can be fixed with settings?

Need a bit of more information.
Is this your first ride after calibration? Or is this your calibration ride?
If this is your first ride after calibration in this new set up most likely the rides are recorded into 2separate ride files as PP switches off in 20minutes of inactivity.
You can combine it using combine/split under file . Then choose a symmetrical area around your ride either way centring around your U turn point. Then go to combine/split -> keep selection -> Check calibration-> most likely this will fix it.

If this is a calibration ride. U need to do it again after pairing your cadence and speed and HR sensors with your new setup as the calibration ride needs to be out and back and since u stopped at some point and power pod switched off calibration may not be accurate

Kindly make sure tilt of PP is +/- 10 degree to horizontal too

If would be better if u can post your ride file here for John to have a look
