New PowerPod - battery lasting 3 or 4 hours

Post by Nibbler »

I've got a new PowerPod, bought from ProBikeKit here in the UK just over a week ago. It is the ANT+ version, no BT.

It has been charged to full twice, the initial charge and a secondary charge which probably charged from about half-way.

Yesterday, I found that the battery was dead at the start of a ride and after adding up my riding time since the last charge, I find it had lasted for between 3 and 4 hours.

In DC Rainmaker's review, a chap from Velocomp (John?) quotes a battery time of 20 hours which means mine is lasting a quarter of that at best.

That's a major difference and a concern. Have I got a faulty unit or is something set wrong? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Do the following:

1) Connect your PP to a USB charger. The light will flash red while the unit charges

2) Let PP charge until the light turns off (fully charged battery)

3) See how long your PP remains charged. If it gives up after 3-4 hours then email technicalsupport@velocomp.com for next steps.
