Start stop riding - affect on PP when it powers off

Post by Bugsbunny »

Hi John

On my rides sometimes we stop for an extended break - such as lunch. So PP will power down after I think about 20 min of inactivity. When I'm reading to restart my ride, my Garmin 520 just continues and I press the power button on PP. But sometimes it seems to take a long time (say a few minutes) before the power is registered and showing again on my Garmin head unit. I also don't get that little pop up message on my Garmin showing the BT connection is made with my PP.

Any thoughts?

1) When you stop, are you removing the PP from your bike?

2) After pressing the PP light, does it turn solid green?

3) Is your PP securely attached to its mount, so that it cannot rotate?

I do not want to interfere with the Velocomp support but I have a suggestion.

I had the same problem with one week ago but it was not the PP fault. I discovered that my Garmin (Edge 820) disconnected the PP after an hour stop (the power sensor switch was off). Why??? I do not know... So, I enable the sensor again by turning the switch to on and all things was back to normal.

Anyone who has knowledge is welcomed! We are not Garmin experts, so your insight is very helpful.
