Wind Scaling and Relocation
Wind Scaling and Relocation
Hi,
New PowerPod user! I love the product so far BTW.
I have 2 questions though that hopefully someone can clarify:
1. I was using the existing Garmin Edge front mount and switched to the PowerPod front mount since its more sturdy albeit a little heavier so do I need a new O&B calibration?
2. I notice Wind Scaling is a constant permanent value in ISAAC and I also notice this is based on the calibration ride that when I did has no traffic and no wind at the time. I do not bike at the exact location where I did the calibration all the time so wind values will change every single time which will affect Wind Scaling. So does PowerPod readjust its Wind Scaling factor every time I ride?
Thanks!

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
1. Whenever you change mounts you should do a new O&B ride
2. PP readjusts its WSF only in an O&B ride.

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
thanks for the answer so does it mean that my regular rides the Watts will be somewhat not accurate?
Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
Please post a .ibr ride file and I will check things for you.

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
Sorry for the late reply. Weather was bad.
Regardless I just did a new O&B calibration (O&B 3 file) on the same road with slightly less weight. Changes are: I lost 3 lbs somehow and lowered the handle bars by 1 spacer (10cm) and using the Powerpod front mount (before I was using the garmin front mount altered to fit the PP below the garmin)
The other one attached is my previous O&B (calride 2) before the mentioned changes

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
Your calibration 3 looks perfect. Have fun on your bike!

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
Another question about recablibration. I seem to be lossing weight like crazy so do I have to do O&B ride every time i lose some weight or can I just just change the weight on the basics tab?
Will doing this recalculate my number on the advance tab?

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
Hopefully your weight loss is because you're getting really fit on your bike!
You don't have to do a new O&B ride, but you should use the "Device/Setup Device" feature in Isaac to adjust your weight.
Make sure that, when you come to the last screen of the Setup Device wizard, you select the "Keep Accuracy of..." button.

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
One little confussion when setting this up using the "Keep Accuracy of..."
At the beginning of the Step I am asked to choose which of the 4 slots I can get to save the profile. I noticed that if I pick my latest calibration (option 3 at moment) vs using the "unsaved" slot that the Wind Scaling varies alot. When picking the latest "non unsaved" slot which is Calibration 3, my wind scaling values transfers over which i assume is the correct one?
In any case please let me know which of the 4 slots should be used? Thanks
And from your screenshot. how do i get "Dialed In"?

Re: Wind Scaling and Relocation
Sorry, this one got lost over the weekend...
When you are editing a profile, the profile that is currently in use by PP is the one that will be modified. For example, it sounds like you're using profile 3 currently. So, when you edit profile 3, at the very end you'll " Keep Accuracy of..." profile 3 (the result of your Cal Ride), but update other factors that you entered (such as weight).
