Hello John,
I've searched through all the extracted files in CP210x_Universal_Windows_Driver, and cannot locate the “silabser.inf”. And Velocomp Aero does not recognize the PP, but does so in Isaac .
Thanks Ken B.
There is this file, but is a text file. “silabser.inf”, but cannot execute (setup information)
Can't find “silabser.inf”
Re: Can't find “silabser.inf”
I got into the same trouble when I tried to install the drivers on my Win machine. I did not see the "install" option.
Here is what to do:
1) Delete the SiLabs driver file you downloaded
2) Download the driver file again from this link:
http://www.velocompforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=6030
3) RIGHT CLICK on the CP210x zip folder. You will see an "Extract All..." for the folder. SELECT "EXTRACT ALL..."
4) You'll get a message saying where the extracted files will be located, and also the option to show the extracted files. Make sure to select the "show extracted files"
5) You will then see a window with the extracted files. Double click on the CP210x folder to open it:
6) In the window you will find a "silabser" file with a type "setup information" (highlighted in the screenshot below)
7) Right-click on the silabser file, and select "Install"
This should allow you to install the drivers.
I don't know if this is a Windows problem or a SiLabs problem (I suspect SiLabs). This is a nasty problem they should fix.
