Why does my power reading drop to zero while pedalling?

Post by Ken »

When riding the power reading often drops out even when pedaling up a moderate inline. Is there
A fault somewhere or a problem with my set up? I have had the PowerPoint about 2 weeks and despite resetting it numerous times the problem persists

It could be one of several things.

Please use Isaac software to download one of your .ibr ride files, then post the file here. We will take a look.

Thanks John,
I have uploaded 2 .ibr files (I hope)
I am finding that the readings fluctuate wildly now and the power reading is still
dropping out regularly.
I have the powepod paired to
Garmin 510 with speed and cadence sensor.
Hopefully we can get it working consistently

It looks like you're using a Garmin GSC-10, or perhaps Giant RideSense sensor. Both are "weak" transmitters and cause dropouts.

Neither works well with PP. I suggest you get a magnet-less speed and cadence sensor from Garmin or Wahoo.

Hi John,
I have it paired with
A Garmin Edge 510 and the matching Garmin speed/ Cadence sensor. Does that alter your answer?

The Garmin GSC-10 is not a very good sensor. It is the cause of your dropouts.

I suggest you get a magnet-less speed and cadence sensor from Garmin or Wahoo.
