Powerpod cuts out

Post by Timmy »

Hi,

I have had the powerpod for a few weeks now, and it keeps cutting out on the garmin. I push the button on the powerpod, and power returns for about 30 seconds before going again. I have changed the changed the old gcs10 sensors for new, magnet less sensors and the problem is still there.

I have reset the device and the problem is still there.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Please post a .ibr ride file from Isaac. That will make it easy to figure out what is going on.

It looks like you're using a Garmin GSC-10 combined speed cadence sensor. These transmit weak signals and are causing your problems.

Get one of the new magnet-less speed sensors. Place the sensor in your front wheel hub and all will be well.

I have just done this, and for the last week the problem has still been the same. The power won't transmit unless the button is pushed on the powerpod.

Hmm...your ride file shows that you are paired to a Garmin GSC-10. Take the GSC-10 off your bike, put it at least 50 feet away from your bike, then do a new Sensor Scan with your awakened magnet-less sensor. Press-hold the PP button for about 4 seconds, until it starts to flash green. Once the pairing is complete the light will be solid green.

I took the battery out the old unit and paired the new magnet less sensors, the problem is still there. When I push the button, it flashes green and power is displayed, but when the light goes out, so does power.

1) Make sure your sensor is awake

2) Press-hold the PP button for about 4 seconds, until the light starts to flash green. This initiates the pairing process

3) When pairing is successful the light turns solid green. Please confirm this happens. If not, what is the color of the light?

I have just followed through the instruction and calibrated the powerpod again before my ride today, it all seemed to be fixed and I had power displayed throughout my ride. Looking at the ibike file, power dropped out because of a lack of cadence, but my garmin file shows power throughout the ride. Have I done something wrong?
I have attaxhed both the garmin file and the ibike file so would appreciate any help.

I'm loving the power meter by the way, I did expect it to be more than a plug and play and it has been everything I wanted and more!

Thanks,
Tom
