What's the procedure for breaking out of an OB ride?

Post by Nibbler »

The other day, I had the PowerPod go into OB Calibration mode despite that calibration ride being done before and successful. I couldn't stop the LED flashing red/green for the entire ride and the head unit was stuck showing 50W.

There must be a proper way to bypass the OB ride, especially as it is described as optional.

How is this done please?

If you've put your PP into O&B calibration mode (flashing red/green), then you have wiped-out your older calibration coefficients. You'll need to do the O&B ride.

Here are the O&B instructions

but take note of these two things:

1) With the unit flashing red/green, you need to click the PP button to start the O&B ride. Light will go to flashing yellow

2) When the unit reaches 50 and the light turns solid red, STOP YOUR BIKE, turn around. The light will flash yellow. Ride back to your starting point; the counter will climb to 100. Once the O&B ride is over the light goes out and your power will be there.

Thanks John. All I had done was plugin the PowerPod in to the PC and downloaded the data to the hard drive. Next start, I get the enforced OB ride.

So do I take it the OB ride is actually mandatory and not optional and that you can't cancel it if it starts up again even though you have already done an OB ride?

Please do the following:

1) spin the wheel of your bike, to wake up its speed sensor

2) Wake up your PP. What is the condition of the status light?

3) Spin the wheel of your bike for about 10 seconds. What is the condition of the status light?
