Poor calibration ride / recalibration

I wonder if you could help me.
I followed the video for the initial calibration of my powerpod but unfortunately the calibration ride was a relative disaster. Lots of stops, traffic, down hill, braking while turning the cranks etc. Also, it wasn't out and back.
The following day I went on a ride and am getting power numbers but I highly doubt the accuracy due to the poor calibration ride.
Every ride I am asked if I want to calibrate the power meter. When I select yes (Garmin 810) it tells me it's calibrating but the screen is just a dashed line. Occasionally it says calibration successful (within a few seconds) with the number 0 in a box which doesn't change (i.e doesnt go 0-100). If I back out of the menus the power readings continue as normal (e.g 126 W). No 0 - 100, no 8 mins (as far as I can tell) etc.
I have never moved the powerpod and I have tried 'forgetting' and refinding the powerpod but this hasn't solved anything. I think that all I want to do is have another go at calibration, this time in better conditions.
Im afraid I'm no computer wiz so the simpler the answer the better!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
