Power Pod stops recording data..

I am having some new issues with my PP. First off I went on a ride the other day, and pressed the button to turn on the pp. I pressed it for maybe a second and a half (not 4 seconds) and it went into the calibration mode. Was not sure how to get out of that , and so I went ahead and did the calibration ride again. Did not know what else to do.
Afterwards it was working good for about the FIRST 10 miles of my 30 mile ride. Then what I call the dreaded Zero appears on my Wahoo Computer where my Wattage is supposed to be. I'm riding my bike at 18mph, cadence is about 90 and no WATTAGE is appearing on my cycling computer screen. I did a quick 1 second press of the button on the pp to try to re awaken it, it would flash green off and on for about 4 seconds, but never a Solid green light near the end. Still nothing happened. Tried this several times to no avail. So I had NO power data for the last 20 miles of my ride.
This same thing happened on a previous ride the day before, except it did not go into the Calibration part at the beginning of the ride.
This is very frustrating. I do not understand why all this is happening? Will I ever get to a point when I can just turn this thing on and, just ride??
Also what is the process for turning this unit OFF at the end of the ride? Or does it have an auto shut off? Also I have never hooked up my unit to Issac. Would this help it run better? Would that affect any calibration rides I have done previously on the pp?
Sincerely, Stephen Howard
