PowerPod doesn't pair

Greetings. I recently purchased a PowerPod power meter to pair with my Leyzne Mega XL. I have gone through the procedure for pairing the 2 several times verbatim. Well, to the best of my ability at least. The PP doesn't connect at all. I have paired other sensors (cadence, speed and HR) without problem and have watched videos on YouTube of folks who have successfully paired the PP and Mega XL. I gave up on my Leyzne and tried to pair/connect with my wife's Garmin 520. This also would not register the PowerPod as being present either. Help?
