PowerPod V2 won't turn on

Dear All,
Having worked flawlessly for two years my V2 PowerPod will no longer turn on.
The battery is getting charged as I can feel the side warming when it is plugged in to the USB charger.
I have tried to do a hard reset by holding the power button down for a long time (over 12 seconds) but nothing happens.
Is this the dreaded power button problem?
If so, what can be done to fix it?
