My PowerPod V5 goes into calibration mode every single ride. I have tried swapping sensors, resetting the entire unit, clearing out previous profiles, extracting profile from both the unit and from individual rides. To date nothing has worked.
My work around has been to simply schedule 5 to 10 minutes to do an out and back each ride. The unit is rock steady once calibrated (at least for that ride) but I really would like to get past this glitch.
Has anyone else run into this and if so how did you resolve it?

Re: PowerPod V5 goes into calibration mode every ride
Hi John,
Here are files from todays ride. I also noticed the date is wrong (that is a new thing).
As has been the case since I got the unit roughly 30 seconds in the PP went into calibration modes, so I did the out and back and carried on for my ride. The unit works fine solid signal and numbers that make sense.
I suspect that tomorrow I will have to do the out and back again.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Could there be an issue with the device, it has done this from day one.
Thanks,
Michael

The good news is that your unit is nicely calibrated and measuring power correctly.godfrey7 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:59 pm Hi John,

I'm wondering if the problem might be in button pushing:
The start up sequence should be
1) awaken your speed sensor
2) Click the PP button (do NOT Press-hold). The button should flash green, then turn solid green when the speed sensor is found.
3) You're ready to ride. If you see any color differences in step 2) please let me know.
You report that the unit goes into calibration mode after 30 seconds. When you awaken the unit, what color is its light? What color is the light after 30 seconds?
Regarding date/time: if you press-hold the button for around 12 seconds, the light will go out briefly and then start flashing again. This does a hard reset of the unit, which causes the date/time to be lost. When you next connect your unit to VA or Isaac, the correct date/time will be restored.
Make sure you're clicking the button as described in step 2 (no press-hold), and hopefully this will fix the problem.

Re: PowerPod V5 goes into calibration mode every ride
John I think that you may have nailed it. I have been holding the button until it starts blinking, roughly for seconds, next ride I will simply touch that button and wait. That would be so awesome if it solves the issue.
You are correct the unit is rock solid once under way.
I'll let you know what happens next ride.

The click versus hold certainly appears to be the issue.
With click to start the unit worked perfectly. After flashing green it went to straight green then registered accurate watts immediately.
Thanks as always for your quick response.
