Power Way Too High

Post by mikelister »

Hi, I have been using my powerpod for a few weeks and whilst I thought the power readings were a little high i accepted it. However, I recently did an hour ride at a local circuit which is flat and your speed is pretty constant, this gave me an average power of over 370W for the hour, my previous hour best was around 250W. I'm therefore concerned there is something with the calibration. I have attached the calibration ride, perhaps someone could check it for me please?

Please post your one hour ride. That will be the better file to use to check things.

There are a few miles before and after the 1 hour constant cycle but should be easy enough to pull it out.

Thanks

And this is from a more sedate 10 mile ride into work this morning.

You're correct; power is too high, due to a consistent headwind.

I used the check calibration feature to correct this.

After correction your FTP is about 277W; very nice!

Do the check calibration, then load the corrected profile into your PP.
