Re: CdA Analysis
Yes, I have a DFPM...stated that in first post. I was wondering why John recommended Coast Downs. I did them anyway. Here is my latest data after I installed the RWS=Remote Wind Sensor. I think I'm getting more accurate readings with the RWS in the drops. Regardless, here's the latest. Thanks Rob

Re: CdA Analysis
ok..no problem..I'll do 3 out 3 bak instead of 1 and 1. And, I'll keep doing them each week until I start to get some statistical significance. Like I said..I'll do what I have to do.

Re: CdA Analysis
Ok, got an update with more CdA data points. Seems like I'm getting smarter each time I do the cal ride. I've got a good idea that my CdA on the brake hoods is 0.345. That's based on the cal rides (enclosed) and observation while riding long flat stretches of road w/ little to no wind. Enclosed is a...

Re: CdA Analysis
oops..somehow the previous reply posted before I had a chance to explain. Anyway, that was the results of this a.m cal rides. Instead of doing tops, hoods and drops I did hoods and drops only because that would be the biggest change. The first two cal rides are what I expected, the CdA in the drops ...

Re: CdA Analysis
When you say calibration for wind scaling are you talking about performing an AUTO WIND before the calibration rides? I'll tell you what I'm doing in about 15 minutes and it doesn't get any better than this. I'm going out on a flat level road void of any traffic at 0500 with absolutely no wind. In f...

Re: CdA Analysis
Also, the wind was consistent when I tested the three positions. There was a 3-4 mph tailwind during the mile out, and a 3-4 mph headwind during the mile back. So, the wind was consistent on all three positions. Thanks Rob

CdA Analysis
Wondering if somebody could help me out. I threw a Power Tap hub on the back of my bike with the iBike Aero on the front. The goal is to get continuous CdA while I'm riding so I can tweak my TT position. I setup everything by the book and performed a Calibration ride (2 miles out, 2 miles back). Aft...

I can't get the new 4.0 software to load onto my new laptop w/ Windows 7 home edition. During install I get an error message: NI-VISA x64 support 4.3 installation has failed. Anyone have a clue why/how this happens and how to fix so I can complete the install? Thanks Rob

Speed Sensor Magnet
I'd DEFINITELY put some loctite around the screw/threads of the speed sensor magnet to keep it from sliding. I could see even before I put mine on my spoke that it was going to slide one day. Actually, I used silicone sealant adhesive on mine to not only act as loctite on the threads but to also hol...

Re: iBike DFPM comparison anomaly
Yikes..I went back and looked at my Profiles and here I thought that my Profile 2 calibration ride was with my hands on the hoods and actually it was with my hands on the handlebar tops. The two rides above were both ridden with my hands on the hoods...NOT the Profile 2 that was setup on the iBike. ...

Which Profile do I choose?
I've stored two profiles in my iBike Aero..one profile where I've done CDs/cal ride with my hands on the hoods. The other profile where I've done CDs/cal ride with my hands in the drops. Now, I'm getting ready to race a Criterium in which I know I'm going to probably split my time 50/50, riding half...

Re: iBike DFPM comparison anomaly
Coach Boyd..thanks for tweaking the profile for me. Nope, I never feather the brakes when I'm in the draft. I always pop-out to control my speed. Funny that you mention sitting up. You're right, I think I do sit more upright when I'm in a draft. I don't do it consciously though. I probably do it bec...

Re: iBike DFPM comparison anomaly
Here's another file from tonight. You can clearly see the difference in Power readings starting at the 4.5 mile mark up to the 8 mile mark. I went back into Google Earth and re-traced my route via GPS to take a BETTER look at the landscape..and the only thing I remember was there was a STRONG sidewi...

Re: iBike DFPM comparison anomaly
Hey Coach Boyd..I was just thinking...in an effort to catch back up to the guys that dropped me, I could have gone from my hoods to the drops...to get more aero to try to go faster. Since the calibration ride was done in the hoods, could that be the reason for the big delta from mile 12-18? I rememb...

iBike DFPM comparison anomaly
After downloading my ride file last night I noticed an anomaly of sorts that I can't explain. I was wondering if any of you guys had an explanation. I was doing an interval workout, alternating paceline, and got dropped. After I got dropped I continued riding. I noticed on the downloaded file that t...

Lap Timer Marker
When I rode today, I did a 2x20 L4 workout and marked each 20 minute interval with the Lap Timer Marker (by holding the left button on the iB Aero in for 2 seconds). I just downloaded the ride file and can't see these markers. I know they recorded when I rode. Any clue how to show them in the iB 3 s...

Speed Information Question
Sorry if this is a STUPID question, God knows I've asked a bunch on here so I apologize in advance, but when looking at my iBike data in Xcel: does the difference between the Speed (mph) column and Wind Speed (mph) column tell me whether the wind is in my face vs. at my back? e.g. If the Speed (mph)...

I had something similar happen today (no rain though) and I'm trying to fix the file for WKO upload but I don't know how. Here's the deal: I rode for three hours today, taking a 10 min rest stop to get something to drink. When I got home and downloaded the ride file I see that my iBike Aero HR monit...

Re: Battery Life?
Well, doesn't look to be too much battery life data out there. Therefore, I'll do my own tests (monthly) and publish the results. The reason I asked the original question is because I honestly believe some of the erroneous data that people are reporting could be a result of a weak or rundown battery...
